Bubba1135 Posted August 9, 2015 Share Posted August 9, 2015 Clutch is going in my efe have been looking at an APE trac king kit with an extra plate,since I did the big bore mines always slipped when cold so wondered if anyone had tried one of these,or do I just go for an ebc kit. Pedda Posted August 9, 2015 Share Posted August 9, 2015 I'd go for stock setup then. Just make sure to soak the friction plates in oil before installing them. But I bet I'm just stating the obvious just like checking the steel plates if they're still within tolerances... 3 Quote Link to comment

johnr Posted August 11, 2015 Share Posted August 11, 2015 barnett kevlar plates are the best feeling clutch plates i ever used. not cheap but they feel like nothing else, they do not slip or drag and i couldnt ever make mine misbehave. seriously, if youre keeping the bike theyre worth absolutely every penny. 1 Quote Link to comment

Blower1 Posted August 12, 2015 Share Posted August 12, 2015 Get the steel plates level grinded and use the original fibres. Even the new unused oem steels have a small bumps, from 0.01 to 0.05mm.Grinding them down makes the clutch working a much better = more even pressure and bigger contact surface.I had some issues with clutch drag and slight slipping on cold engine. After one machine shop level grinded my clutch steel plates no clutch drag & slipping anymore.My efe is 1327 with supercharger and MTC lock up clutch Quote Link to comment
Locomotion Posted August 22, 2015 Share Posted August 22, 2015 Thats interesting about having the metal plates ground, wouldn't this reduce the stack height. Obviously it hasn't affected your clutch.
