You are correct had to slot the oil cooled exhaust to fit my efe just as shown in picture
-
There is a petrol resistant PTFE tape think it comes on a yellow roll PTFE gas tape I think?
-
The marks could have been caused by debris and bits picked up in the oil in a previous life, if it was making contact I'm sure it would be noticeable. Electrex stuff is generally good fitted one to my efe 20 yes ago no probs
-
Thanks, suspected as much. New brushes and a strip and rebuild it is then cheers

Is the 1100efe starter motor the same as the other gsx's? I know the gears are different but can't remember if the motor is cheers

No idea, are they new or used, could be mistake at factory, jet got mixed in with blank jets during assembly? Fit a new blank and see what happens

Lighter Mikuni RS Flatslide Throttle Return Spring?
dago replied to MOTOMORON1100E's topic in Air Cooled
I've just tried this at the weekend, I unhooked the spring nearest the outside of the carbs and put the middle spring on the middle post, it's a lot lighter and no sticking so far -
Got mine from here https://www.spengineering.co.uk/slip-on-exhausts/page/2/ The cans without the size listed give you a choice of inlet sizes

When I asked about my F1 giving them the frame number all they could tell me was rough year of manufacture. Perhaps they didn't keep as detailed records of racing frames as privately ordered frames?
-
Also you can set the number of revolutions before it fires which can take the strain off the starter clutch
-
I bought a new sight glass & took them to a local engineering place and they machined it for me
-
I've got ignitech as well, been using it now for over 3 years with no problems, it's easy use as well and you can add things to it
-
Surely if it was a coil or pick up would only be running on 2 as 1&4 run off same coil & pick up, so check leads otherwise prob a carb Prob

You could also lace on new rims to take better tyres, obviously depends on budget
-
You can probably get them from https://www.allensperformance.co.uk/ probably also worth getting new o rings

All mixture adjustment should be done with a warm engine, same for carb balance. The choke richens the mixture making any adjustments void,
-
Yep from under the mixture screws
-
You're right you really should rebalance the carbs now the air leak is fixed
-
What about valve stem seals? Just a thought oil getting past them fouling the plug when starting depending which valves are open hence the randomness. Sometimes the oil can sit on a closed valve dumping it into the cylinder when it's opened? Combined with the richness from the choke might not take a lot of oil too foul the plugs

That's what I've got fitted to mine you a nice bit of kit though does work out expensive when you factor in the extra lines and fittings.

Mines a 1229 engine the most I've seen is 125'c this was on a 30+ day and really heavy traffic coming out of central London probably nearly ¾ of on hour slow filtering, normally see around 100/110 filtering and about 80-85 normal riding., I found it just another thing to worry about. Mounted the sender where Suzuki did
