Blue Posted June 9, 2017 Posted June 9, 2017 For those who have fitted usd's what have you done for lock stops? Quote
banoffee Posted June 9, 2017 Posted June 9, 2017 Removed the originals from the bottom yoke and welded on a new central one to suit the frame. 1 Quote

Blue Posted June 10, 2017 Author Posted June 10, 2017 Not able to weld anything as yokes are anodised & frame is powder coated. Top yoke is thicker than standard so I don't think there's enough room to fit a steering damper bracket under top nut. It's either make a bracket & drill the front of the bottom yoke to make a stop or fit a side damper with a bracket coming off one of the 3 (or all of em) pinch bolts to a bracket off the side of the engine or frame & use that as a stop Quote

Ben Slabby Posted June 11, 2017 Posted June 11, 2017 Mine are on the headstock, but set far back, on the sides, if you see what I mean..? I'll get a pic. Quote
Ben Slabby Posted June 11, 2017 Posted June 11, 2017 They need replacing with hard nylon bushes ideally, but they keep the MOT man happy. 1 Quote
Rsk_141 Posted June 11, 2017 Posted June 11, 2017 (edited) Not usd yokes, granted, but this is my non welding solution to slabby lock stop Remove old lugs make new lug driil / tap hole, file flat, also fitted dowel to stop twisting. it's all good ! Edited June 11, 2017 by Rsk_141 Quote
Ben Slabby Posted June 11, 2017 Posted June 11, 2017 Yeah, I tried that but found it wouldn't stay put. Quote

CockneyRick Posted June 11, 2017 Posted June 11, 2017 I plan to do same, but with 2 screws to stop it twisting Quote
Ben Slabby Posted June 11, 2017 Posted June 11, 2017 Drilled and tapped x2. Seemed to shift a little/work loose still. Quote
CockneyRick Posted June 11, 2017 Posted June 11, 2017 Just done mine, a good tidy up & p/coat then should look ok! 1 Quote

clivegto Posted April 25, 2018 Posted April 25, 2018 Acetal lock stops made by Hudson performance engineering. Quote
canamant Posted April 25, 2018 Posted April 25, 2018 I used the bobbins solution but bolted them to a piece of ally bar which I pinched with the fairing bracket mounting bolt on each side. Quote

CockneyRick Posted May 2, 2018 Posted May 2, 2018 I'm guessing tho, that in a spill the force would turn em on the forks & make them pointless? Quote
