The plan is to go to Santa Pod for Race Rock n Ride and see what it will do on the 1/4 mile.

Obviously a jacked up turbo wheelie bike with a 55" wheelbase ain't gunna do well at Pod.

Up early then,

Ok, so I was ambitious with the title of "...One Day..." ...One Week..." would me more accurate.

So yesterday was all about lowering the rear and fitting the chain and tidying up a few loose ends. As with any last minute things the dog bones sent to me from Evil bay did not lower the bike but raise it up further, guy up the pubs a hero and said he will have some made up for me tomorrow, think he sensed my rage at a certain Eblag seller.

So it got late, wrap it up Kid.

Back on it today, Airshifter time. So dad used to do drag racing... he's got plenty of spares.... raid the box!

Looky what I found

Herrrro. Winning.

Quick bastardisation of some Harris rear sets to steal the gear shifter as my one current one is more sloppier than a sloppy thing from that dodgy middle eastern takeaway that's open till right late on the weekends.

So it's 1am, I'm tired, but everything is wired and plumbed. The only outstanding thing is mounting of the Ram to the bike, il sort that tomorrow.... lets hope them linkages turn up eh.

Well after bigger all sleep it was back up at UnGodly O'clock to get to Santa Pod for 10am. IMG_7721.thumb.JPG.922a683ee9e92fde347c4db552232515.JPG

joined forces with John McLean in the pits, set everything up and do the last minute stuff I couldn't get done the night before.

IMG_7757.thumb.PNG.329a1145bbf2e57680a8b84f9d4b6e6f.PNG

quick test of the air shifter round the car park, talk about kid with a new toy :)

So I Queued and queued, and it rained and it rained..

Back to the soaked pits

IMG_7726.thumb.JPG.465041d785f8b87be67ee9998285b465.JPG

oh got some C16 too

IMG_7723.thumb.JPG.2fa65387a7528ad978f41cb2fc18c08e.JPG

So I queued. Again

IMG_7758.thumb.PNG.ac5207e6f235f991bc3146cb884ad4fb.PNG

eventually it rained so much they just called the event for the day. Zero runs.

Back to the pits, now since I blew it up I haven't had the fuelling tested on the Dyno, a nice man was charging £19 for two power runs. So I asked Jess for some pocket money.

Back to the pits, again, to make some changes based on the fuelling data acquired.

In bed at 9pm like a good boy.

Sunday morning and it's cracking the flags

IMG_7753.thumb.PNG.8d4e4a5aa9cbeae293aa886115c21712.PNG

some plebs arrived

IMG_7733.thumb.JPG.5ba1d0daa2e65557ba4c2880587339ce.JPG

First run I was taking it easy as I didn't know if the airshifter would work under load, launched at 5k and the track just soaked all the power out and she bogs. 10.45 @ 150mph

Talking to Ollie I needed to up my rpm off the line to overcome the grip levels that Santa Pod can give. So Ollie kindly offered to see me through my burnout and up to line. Launch at 7k feet now on the rear pegs because I know the shifter works.

IMG_7756.thumb.PNG.8684fb497ad10623509024e297f91076.PNG

Launches a lot better but still bogs, hit the shifter into 2nd and it stands on its back wheel, back down, hit the shifter again and it stands back up again. Sorry no video

IMG_7759.thumb.PNG.47872eefa885df42f0f8ae4a0df6fa75.PNG

So queue back up again and we manage to get back out in under 10 mins so the engine is still red hot...

still a little bit of bog off the line and you can hear it doesn't quite go into top gear on the shifter. I have a video of the 9.6 from the stands il load up later.

I believe with a little more practice and a better suspension setup this bike would go very low 9's

Well I'm happy for a weeks work anyway :)
