Simbec1863
Sun out today so got up and uncovered the old girl ready for a blast and found a nice pool of coolant underneath . Tank, side panels etc off and it’s a bit more than a weep, thermostat housing is leaking like a good un,stripped it down and it’s only a perished o ring, checked my spares and I don’t have one,so looks like I’ll have to order a new one and fit it next weekend. Reset the throttle valve gaps while the tank was off and sorted a few bits that were loose after the ride yesterday. Forgot how 2 smokes need a bit more TLC than the old oil boiler, still she was on the road for a whole 24 hours Quote Link to comment

busa1300
Looks great, and makes me want to get mine out before the weather turns to snow. Sadly, I haven't had any of my strokers out or worked on anything since I got my new 1290 SDGT.... Quote Link to comment
Simbec1863
Another weekend another leak, stripped off the housing for the thermostat again and dismantled it gave it another clean, stuck in a new thermostat while it was off, bolted up and refitted.Maybe this time I’ve managed to sort it. Simbec1863
Rode the smoker a fair bit now so engine is run in ,still some issues to sort, not feeling quite right and the power valves need a programmer to fine tune the curve so bit the bullet today and ordered a zeeltronic Back brake needs sorting as well ,needs repainting as I spilt brake fluid on it and missed cleaning it off so it’s now stripped itself Wheels back from powder coaters to so need to fit the running gear and new bearings then stick the some rubber on them . Just a few last jobs before the winter arrives. Quote Link to comment
