Dezza Posted February 6, 2021 Posted February 6, 2021 (edited) Nice one: the last powder coater I used had a Henry Ford approach, although he does a good job if gloss black is required. Edited February 6, 2021 by Dezza Quote

He also has a shadow chrome which he can vary the amount it “chromes” as its a 2nd solvent coat over a black. Thanks, good to know and he is a bit closer than where my frame is at the moment. Quote
clivegto Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 After a month away and a 460 mile round trip the frame is back. 5 Quote

Dezza Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 It looks really good in the pics. Much better than the previous green. 2 Quote
clivegto Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 Cleaned some of the bolt holes & threads up then refitted the engine. 14 Quote
Wagola Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 I have to say that I much prefer that colour of frame. Goes much better with the cam cover colour. 1 Quote

clivegto Posted February 17, 2021 Posted February 17, 2021 (edited) Got a little time tonight to fit the quick release adjustable Harris superbike yokes and gsxr 1000k5 forks. Couldn't resist fitting the front mudguard for a look see. Edited February 17, 2021 by clivegto 10 Quote
clivegto Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 Made some little spacors for shoulder bolts to secure the fro t mudguard and cleaned up the bolts in the lathe. Have a choice of 3 sets of discs gsxr, galfer or brembo, fitted the brembo ones as they are in the best condition and are the largest. Calipers on with some 5mm spacors. 4 Quote

Dezza Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 Have you tried button head flanged M6 stainless set screws for the front mudguard (use a 4mm allen key rather than a 5mm)? Not expensive and look the part. Quote

clivegto Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 I will use that style for some things @Dezza 1 Quote
clivegto Posted February 19, 2021 Posted February 19, 2021 530 chain is quite close to the frame so have ordered 525 chain and 44 tooth back sprocket. Will wiz 1.68mm off the stepped 17 tooth 530 one to make it into a 525. This gearing should give me a top speed of 196.8mph at 10000 revs which is more about loading the engine and turbo not so much about going that fast 5 Quote
