Loudpipes Posted November 2, 2023 Posted November 2, 2023 Been here a while and know a few members on here I've just bought a gsxr 1100 k to turbo its going to FBM but told I need hayabusa gen 2 pistons and rods. I've got pistons sorted but struggling to find rods any info on good quality aftermarket stuff would be appreciated but don't want to spend carrillo money looking for 260 ish bhp, I know it's a big ask for first post but cheers. Arttu Posted November 3, 2023 Posted November 3, 2023 For 260hp stock gen2 Busa rods should be perfectly fine, I think. Quote
davecara Posted November 3, 2023 Posted November 3, 2023 Is it worth contacting Big CC or Jack at Holeshot? They do some big power busa's so will probably have standard pistons and rods knocking about? 2 Quote

Hi Dave, there's a few on the bay just search gsxr H beam con rods, heard the bolts want upgrading though. I have some mk1 pistons and rods in my stash of stuff but these have 20mm pins yours are 18mm. Quote

Your going to need a lock-up clutch and case to house it. @Gsxrsamcan help with this and he's local to us Quote
Loudpipes Posted November 3, 2023 Author Posted November 3, 2023 Yeah will look into it clive I'm way of that stage tbh. Messing with fitting a 5.5 rear wheel instead of the standard 4.50 at moment who do you use for powdercoat, I used to use raw wheels but a few mates have had problems recently any suggestions. Quote
clivegto Posted November 3, 2023 Posted November 3, 2023 Have used Yorvik Engineering at Wigginton a lot also used LSN at Castleford. Quote
Loudpipes Posted November 3, 2023 Author Posted November 3, 2023 Yeah I've used both in the past need loads doing the power coat on this bike is shocking, got a few gaskets here that came in with bike bits they aren't for my 1100 k you my have something in your shed that they would fit any good to you. Loudpipes Posted November 12, 2023 Author Posted November 12, 2023 Some more frame polishing done today want to vapour blast frame on none polished surfaces but it's in the que for FBM so dont want to strip to bare frame until turbo kits been built to bike, all hand polished mabe shud invest in a polisher instead of buying beers.... 5 Quote

Joseph Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 Would it be best to tape that over while you're scrounging around in the garage building the bike ? Impressive finish though, thats some dedication there Quote
