Early blandit clutch

Hi I'm gradually stripping the early1200 bandit I acquired and it looks like alot of differences are not only cosmetic I removed the clutch cover and this clutch is not the same as my other bandit.would this be a early gsxr clutch assembly ??

AFAIK oily GSXR clutches are all 4 spring not 5! It does look peculiar though!

I think there was a conversion done on this site a while back....k5 gsxr 750  into oilcooled ....

Dont think its a gsxr 750 clutch look at the center bearing that's not on a k5 clutch

It would if you machined the centre out a bit

I've compared the pictures of the 600 hub and its different the raised center hub on mine is bigger  diameter.also the bike has stood for 15 years + so unlikely to be a k4 item.

This sounds like a sensible interpretation of the pre-production 'build'of the resulting parts bin lash up so beloved as a donor machine . With 'parts bin' loosely interpreted to consist of 'use the old oil cooled bits we have lying about and then make some more on the cheap by not having to go through the really expensive process of tooling up to make totally new bits.'

Mystery solved it was fitted with a Rf900 clutch at the factory.swingarm is also rf900

fitted with an rf clutch at the factory ???  bullshit . Suzuki has part numbers for specific models for a reason......

as we all know.... some suzi parts are interchangeable.....but suzuki don’t sell new bikes built with other model mechanical assemblies ....

Been in touch with a guy who owns one has exactly the same set up.i should have said its the same clutch as an rf 900 rather than its an rf 900 clutch.
