Oil cooler replacement - options?

The oil cooler on my 7/11 has a hairline crack on the mount / housing where the L/H hose bolts on to. Edit to add - its pishing oil!

I'm guessing this might be fixable by specialist welding, second hand ones on egay are £50+ with some "needing repair" so thinking after market oil cooler?  Quick look on that site shows various coolers new from £30 up, but I don't have a clue about fitments etc!

What would I need to buy after market - rows (17??) and hose fitments assuming standard feeder hoses will need replaced?

Engine is 1990 1127cc slingy motor.

Any advice and guidance much appreciated!

cheers

Most people tend to use a 19 row oil cooler.

Standard size hoses are AN8 ( - 8 , JIS 8 or 3/4 UNF )all the same just different name.

Torques can supply all the fittings at a decent price if your not fussed by branded stuff (Goodridge etc..)

Problem is you will spend nearly as much on hoses and fittings as you will on a cooler..

IMO Dash 8 / AN8 is ok for supplementary coolers / head coolers etc but if tuning the motor, a step up to Dash 10 hose and fittings / 5/8" inlets on cooler allows better flow with reduced pressure loss. Better flow allows more heated oil to be cooled - I used a 19 row and it coped well with turbo power but didn't like sitting still - traffic wasn't its friend!

I am running a chinese an 10 19 row cooler wich was intended for a nissan the cooler came with hose and bends the whole thing costed me about 120 euro and works fine. I thought for that money its worth a try. Offcourse you have too make brackets yourself.

running it on my turbo bike keeps it cool enough.

bought from egay
