370steve Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 As title, is there any other bike gears or pump that have been used to pump more oil? Quote
zedhead Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 The answer that is going to be forthcoming will be in the form of a question... Why? ;-) 2 Quote
370steve Posted February 14, 2020 Author Posted February 14, 2020 Haha knew that, it is just something that has come into my head, as i have seen other threads/posts on other OSS bikes that have had oil pump up grades done by using pumps/gears from other Models. Quote
zedhead Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 It's done on others because they need it, and Bandits don't, simples ;-) It's like reading that a bloke has to take tablets for low blood pressure so demanding that you have some, just because... 1 Quote
clivegto Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 As said they do not need upgrading Steve. 1 Quote

If you want to upgrade your pump gears. Get a proper aircooled motor 2 Quote
colinworth79 Posted February 24, 2020 Posted February 24, 2020 Different oil cooled engines run different gear ratios to run the oil pump. Bandit 12 motor runs the biggest size gear on the back of the clutch. No point in trying to overspeed the pump or increase the pressure. I've run my bandit for 12 years with the addition of oil going to supply the turbo bearing and it works fine. 2 Quote
Bow Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 As everyone has said, no need. But if you do want to upgrade your pump, the only place I know of is Sean at BigCC. His bandit turbo kits are built with an up rated pump. Simply because adding a turbo adds extra demand. and yes, we have seen them fail, normally down to poor maintenance. 1 Quote
