Time to try new things out. O.o

Had the luck to get my fingers on parts of an old Sims and Rohm Supercharger kit. It's only the charger with intakte and carb adapter.

Special engine case for starter clutch is missing. So I have to build one for my own.

First idea was to put it into a slabby frame, but that wouldn't be possible without modifying the upper frame rails. So I have to go the slingshot way.

Charger is in very good condition. Was imported from USA years ago. Owners plan was to put it on a EGLI Kwaksaki, but never done it, because lots of nodifications required.

So he sold it. To me! B|

First things to do: modification of starter clutch case and sourcing out the missing parts to drive the charger. Don't want to use a V-belt, want to use a toothed belt.

Have to do some search for the ratio of the toothed belt discs. Not much Informations available. :|

More coming soon. (y)

Those poly-vee belts do transfer quite a bit of power - pretty much universally used on modern cars with high load alternators, power steering pumps and air-con compressors, so why make extra work for yourself?

Because glimmer belts look the titties and v belts look like they only should be powering alternators and pto farm equipment even if they were good enough for the Paxton on my 67 fastback.

mr dunloopie at FBM just had a set of toothed pulleys made, give him a call.

:pimp: only because of that

No, to be honest, the belt disk of the charger is transport damaged, so I need a new one. Belt also f...d and has the same age as the charger. O.o Also need a new one. So work and parts needed are the same.

this was a later Gilmer belt set up that the owner had "overdriven" the blower

Many moons ago at a Florida bike night I was introduced to a guy who worked in the aircraft industry "who I was told was the guru" on these short lived  kits

but F##ded if I can remember his name :(

this is an original set up ratio wise "underdriven"

It's a 750 engine, maybe because of that it was underdriven, to get lower boost.

It's difficult to find any further information about these kits or supercharging in general.

Little progress :)

Ordered some parts and started machining the drive of the charger.

Spent some time machining the belt drive. Tried to use a belt with standard length, but won't fit. :(

Either I have to order a special shorter belt or using a bigger pulley on crank. :S
