GSXR1000 EXHAUST ON A GSXR1100L ENGINE ?

Hi All,

Another question that I'm sure has been answered or talked about on here in the past but I can't find it. I have heard that some GSXR1000 exhausts will fit on a GSXR1100 engine. If this is fact, which model of GSXR1000 will fit ? I just like the idea of some titanium on my bike somewhere. Any help or answers greatly appreciated.

Have K2 1000 on my 90 1127.

Needed to spread the headers a little, but done it by hand

Definitely k1&2 will fit, I think k3&4 were titanium as well. Super light

Yeah I've had K3 pipes on a 1100f engine

Got gsxr1000 k2 on my gsx1100f powered Kat and gsxr1000k1 on my b12 powered gsx1157et project 

You want the gsxr1000 headers that dose not have the small link pipe between numbers 2-3 down pipes, as said above you need to tweek the headers apart a little bit for them to sit in the oil cooled zorst ports but this can be done by hand

Would K2 1000 Headers fit a 1052 with a little persuasion? 

In regards to the sump, would things still clear down that end?

Edit: Should note the 1052 is in an 1100L Slingy frame.

Thou Ti headers on a 1127 sling5hit I chucked together one year for a visit to the IOM

The gsxr1000 headers hang low so no problems with any of the sumps.

The best "easier to fit" are the ones without the balance pipes between 1-2 and 3-4....as you do need to spread them slightly to fit

you can use the linked ones but its harder as you need to cut and either re-weld or cut them off and blank the hole in the header

And like most things the best ones  the k1-k2 where cheep, I got both the ones on my kat and the ones on my gsx1157et project for about £40. Now they seem quite a bit more.

Don't bother with the link pipe, as it has a valve in it.

Perfect, I managed to get my hands on a set of K1 GSXR 1000 titanium ones. Checked the pics and there doesnt appear to be a link, only rather a bracket clamped on to brace the pipes but looks removable. I'll keep everyone posted anyways when they arrive

Personally they fit with fettling, but look awful imho. 

And they look even worse on Air cooled lumps

That’s because the port angle is different

On the air cooled, I'd be worried about the front wheel hitting the down pipes.

Got a set of k1 ti headers gathering  dust , never knew they were so universal  .
