Guest YoshiJohnny Posted January 14, 2019 Posted January 14, 2019 I loathe the original spindleshank swingarm on my Mag 2 Has anyone used anything off the wall that wasn't too much strife to fit? I don't want a single sider YJ Quote
caferacerdan Posted January 15, 2019 Posted January 15, 2019 i know @clivegtohas made a few arms fit but think they all involved work...ive got a streetfighter mag that had someone who put a swingarm in that didnt take too much work...il see if i can dig it out Quote
Pheasantplucker Posted January 15, 2019 Posted January 15, 2019 I'm interested to find out too, I'm building a frame similar to a mag 2 and would like a reasonable priced/easy to fit swingarm for my project. Quote
caferacerdan Posted January 16, 2019 Posted January 16, 2019 just found the article...the harris in question was built to be a road legal drag bike so had a stock 1100m arm in it with a brace for the cantilever suspension and some new spacers...but it looks long in that bike! Quote
Evoluzione Posted January 16, 2019 Posted January 16, 2019 I have a couple of arm's ... and when you say "of the wall" this springs to mind, It's a Works XRO 6 (SRAD) Or I also have a 750 WN arm same as on my 1100M here Quote
clivegto Posted January 16, 2019 Posted January 16, 2019 This onda 6 arm was fitted to the green mag 2 when I got it. Quote
Guest YoshiJohnny Posted January 16, 2019 Posted January 16, 2019 OK my buddy Colin at TPE has a plan involving some bastard files, blue glue and crayons Using a GSXR750K1 swinger Quote
clivegto Posted January 16, 2019 Posted January 16, 2019 This is my plan @YoshiJohnnyit was a JMC arm. Quote

The stock was just the alloy extrusion lengths and apparently it was fucking expensive... The thieves got away with a good bit of it too. Quote

clivegto Posted January 17, 2019 Posted January 17, 2019 I did buy a length of the bay of e for bottom JMC arm bracing. Quote
baldrick Posted January 17, 2019 Posted January 17, 2019 If you are planning changing out the standard swingarm for something more substantial, worked off a conventional linkage, please be sure to replace the frame crossmember which you are planning on brazing or tigging the top and bottom linkages/ shock mounts too. The standard tubing is seriously thin guage 531 and not designed to take big loads , its not up to the job. I found this out the hard way on my own harris, but luckily before it caused a serious malfunction. it was just starting to stress and bend the tube, after a couple of thousand miles, but nonetheless, do it once, do it right., don't die, that's my new motto. 1 Quote

Yes I am aware of this, my one is going to be like the one in the pic on a magnum 1 JMC arm as well. 1 Quote
