  1. Didn't realise the material difference. TL's have coated cylinders..:)
  2. On some engines the base of the cylinder(s) can be machined. This lowers the cylinder and the head and raises compression. It also moves the valvetrain closer to the crank, so take a good hard look before proceeding (then repeat another few times). As well as mounting bolts on everything that is lowered, move down. But that's probably negligeable.
  3. The joins between spokes and rim are a bit.. hmm period.. ain't they? Maybe potatoshop the disc centers silver instead of gold, might blend the m7rs better in.
  4. There are some 2 piece 5 spoke PVM's for sale in Germany which would suit this bike to a T
  5. There's a good chance gsx1400/TL/Busa will fit.. what do the partnr's say?
  6. That adds to the mystery. Take a look at your favorite search engine for pictures. That 30mm difference in seat height must be in something.
  7. Then I don't know what sets them apart, but there are defo two seat models out there.
  8. Pretty sure '95/96 Bandits have a nicer looking, lower seat. Fatbloke's picture shows the later, higher item. Though if the foam is anything similar to that on a TL, you'll be able to shape it easily yourself. Just a blade from an iron saw and a rasp will do. And a staplefun to reinstall the cover.
  9. There is clazy jap TLR supermoto to be found on the web..!
  10. Ooh that's one tasty bike!
  11. Had a stubborn one on a throttlebody.. kept it wet with penetration oil (fnarr) for I don't know how long.. days or something. Good fitting screwdriver and a good push/grip eventually got it out. Any chance of some double penetration action by using penetration oil on the other end of it too? Wish I had been that clever when getting mine out damnit..
  12. Can you drill a small hole behind the other end, then knock it out with a small nail or summat?
  13. Srad wheel should have a 130mm wide hub. Many later gsxr's have 128mm hub so that shouldn't be the issue? Srad fork spacing is 214mm while later gsxr's have 207mm. Either way you probably need either different yokes or space the discs out. Or fit Brembo sbk discs with the appropriate offset.
  14. Maybe I joined that party later then most of you did. But I remember some cool ones. Blue frame, white paint, MV single sider etc. Another single sided green one with zx12 forks, quite liked them. The ferrari one had some cool details to it. Cool build, unfortunately project stopped.
  15. Nice build! Will it be another trackbike? Do you want rid of the Srad forks?
  16. Get a hold of some old Streetfighter magazines. Some lovely ones in there.
  17. That's dangerous! can I have'm? Shirley the spring clips on the other side of the pad would've kept them in place?
  18. Some nice kit on that bike for sure! Chain adjusters look quite trick! Ought to be plenty TL flywheels out there to give it a go. Personally I'd weight it/eyeball it and aim for a 15% difference. Should be noticeable but not too crazy?

Never occurred to me before, but horizontal chain adjusters.. now that took a long time to catch on?
  20. Not sure it's fair to compare it to stuff on bandits that have been around for 20 years.
  21. Generally speaking, it seems Nissin and Brembo are both rated higher then Tokico. Didn't the Busa come with a slightly larger disc? If you need that extra leverage and mass to keep the heat in the rear brake down a bit.. Pretty sure there is a gold rear caliper with alloy pistons of later gixers that is a straight fit onto many Suzi's. But there is also one with a different bolt spacing so beware. Pretty sure I've got one of the latter, free to a good home (it's in NL).
