  1. Goddammit. You ever wish you could just go back in time and warn yourself to do or not to do something.
  2. I bought this bike somewhat cheap and apparently needing a new cct. Well I replaced that and of course I should have known thats not what the noise was. it's still there. at low idle. something rattles and one cylinder misses. choke to get the bike started a little higher rpms and the noise goes away though. And when I test rode the bike it fired on all 4 after 4 or 5k or so. But at regular idle there is some kinda knuckley rattley sound. And I dont think it's the cam chain at all. The tensioner I took out worked fine and the bandit one I put in also. I guess just wish me luck for now. Any pointers before I get started. Should I need the suzuki valve tool or no?
  3. Post it here if you dont mind. Somebody else might like to do the same in the future. Whenever you get around to it I'm not doing this for a while. Just asking questions first..
  4. yes on a bandit 12. 1st gen. 99. The easiest way to get 6 inch wheel out back.
  5. Is there a complete rear end that I would rather swap in?
  6. Is there any 6 inch rear wheels that swap in place of the bandit 5 1/2 inch rear wheel? Will it rub the chain or any other big reason not do do it? Aside from there's no effective reason to. Yes I know the 180 works just fine but wider looks cooler. I'm sayin just a little bit wider you know. 190. 6 inch wheel... For that proper superbike look out back. How would I going about this? Which year and model gsxrs had 6 inch wheels and can they go on a bandit? And preferrably straight spoke. Like bandit front wheel...
  7. hey some of that stuff is upside down.
  8. Fuck it. I'm just gonna stuff the carbs back in there and keep the airbox.
  9. right make sure you buy a jet kit for 88-89 gsxr 750. if they are in fact 36.
  10. also yes I see now. thats a gs1000 I overread that part. And I see those little extenders he's got there.
  11. I took the easy way out. Talked with a buddy of mine who just so happens to have an extra b12 yosh header. I just swapped the 750m carbs on my bandit. I'm trading him my old bandit carbs..
  12. actually that was useful information irregardless. If a gsxr 1000 exhaust hangs low on an 1100. And a gsxr 1100 exhaust hangs low on a bandit. Then a gsxr 1000 exhaust on a bandit should hang really really low. That is good information to have.
  13. Yea I didn't mean to come off too prickish. Just keeping the train on the rails thats all.
  14. gsxr 1000 exhaust this thread is about. Yes we all know a gsxr1100 exhaust fits. this is about spreading apart the spacing and retrofitting gsxr ONE THOUSAND headers on a bandit. ONE THOUSAND. Hence the K1, K2, K3
  15. so an aftermarket gsxr header would work too then yes??
  16. This is dumb I know but seriously how does the airbox come out of a slabby 1100. It's like the whole bike is built around the fuckin thing.
  17. http://www.factorypro.com/Prod_Pages/prods05.html config 30 carb kit.
  18. also keep a look out for a 90-92 gsxr 750 parts bike on the cheap. snatch the carbs off that.
  19. first adjust the carburetors by replacing them with bigger ones and go from there. I thought I heard somebody say somewhere that you could get these carbs bored out and then they can work pretty good on the bigger bikes. Or was that slabby 1100 carbs...
  20. So they also fit blandit? Worthy upgrade for cheap?
  21. I used the vacuum fitting off of the back of the 750m pet cock and frankensteined that onto the bandit pet cock. and it works.. As it comes straight out the back and not down like the bandit one this little mod afforded me just the space I needed. So all I had to do was grind off 2 little plastic guide pins on the gasket surface of the bandit pet cock assy so the gsxr vacuum thingy would mate with it properly. Also used the spring out of the gsxr. Then ground off a little bit of metal between the "PRI". and "ON" settings just so that bit cleared the diaphragm cap. Works perfectly.
  22. So you used a factory pro kit... but you still used standard needles? I have mikuni 145s in now. with the american standard needles. It does not work. I need to get me some of you guys' needles or some FP needles. Obviously the dj ones kinda work but are not really right for the application.
  23. fronks are also shorter on the 750s are they not?
