  1. you dont need the clutch to get it out of gear.
  2. I only have one pic of his Kat, he had to stretch the frame a bit as getting the engine in was very tight.
  3. the needle roller bearings fit into the ends of the swingarm, then the bushes sit inside the bearings with a long spacer inbetween them, then the spindle sits inside them. the bushes and the spindle are fixed to the frame so dont move at all, its the swinger that mover round them.
  4. have you tried the bandit arm in your frame, does it clear the footrest hangers ?
  5. yeah so was I, but my mate is a big lad and he rides hard and its held up so far, the bearing doesn't ride on it as its still on the OEM bush/spacer, its just holding the swingarm in line. plus its no biggy if it needs replacing down the road. or get a steel/stainless one made.
  6. I just bought a metre length and cut it the same width of the swinger. i think it was about £8 !!! the spindle fitted perfect in the tube but the tube was a bit tight in the swingarm bushes, but a bit of a rub down at each end with some fine emery it fitted perfect. i did it as a temporary fix on the dry build but my mate has a 400 katana with a 1200 bandit engine in and he did the same thing, 12.000 miles later and its still in with no play what so ever.
  7. i got some ally tube of b/gay, i managed to find some with an OD of 20mm and an ID of 15mm for my gsx750. and yeah B6 and B12 use the same size spindle. by the way its just one length right through the swingarm.
  8. i put a 1200 bandit swinger in my gsx750 frame and it just fit, so i can't use tophat spacers. but i did use 2 shim washers either side to take up a tiny bit of slack.
  9. i think you have to get them made
  10. ive used the sleave way a few times, works a treat
  11. if it has a big nut on then it should be tight and the sprocket shouldn't move on the shaft, some older small bikes had a circlip holding the sprocket on and the sprocket would wobble about and wear the shaft in time.
  12. no the sprocket sould be tight on the shaft, otherwise it'll fuck the shaft. try a washer.
  13. ive got a pair of B6 wheels to go on my gs750 that has a gsx1100 swinger fitted when i get round to it
  14. i was thinking of making a steel box to fit in the gap, then i can put a pie in to warm up
  15. not done it myself but many others have
  16. their could of been a bit of corrosion or whatever on the selector drum ???? a good oil/filter change and some miles on it will help im sure.
  17. engine's in now i started with the rear lower mount and made all the brackets for the rest, the engine sits forward in the frame so the exhaust fitted no problem, to get the engine further back it would of meant cutting the lower rear cross member off and re'welding it further back. couldn't be arsed with all that shit but its in, will live with the gap at the back.
  18. try pulling the clutch lever, it might just push the cover off.
  19. i used 2mm washers on mine till i got some gsxr ones
