    Cam cover bolts

For that type of thing try Pro-bolt, they do all the stainless bolts and also brake pins
  2. Cheers Will have a good look at the motor and your sizing later Thanks Just think for/on a project in the pipe line, as I was thinking of putting a 4-2 zorst on it to be different
  3. Dose anybody know if a 4-2 zorst off a gsx1400 will fit onto a b12 motor? With our to much messing
  4. Not as many GSX bikes with the air cooled motor still in them, a lot are going the same way and putting the oil cooled motor in them, so why not get a GSX frame and put the oil cooled motor in that and start a project, then you could have a air cooled one and a modded oil cooled one
  5. I know how your thinking, did all this when I built a GS1000 tuned motor, had the works in it played about with the Anderson S3 cams with the advance to see what it did to the power output and where, its came as a surprise at how much a couple of degree can make to a engines out put. Some will say it's the zorst you have in but 4-2-1 is the best for all over power, yes there is tuned length that can fuck the hole thing up, but I've never had a real problem with it, ( well maybe once on a old cb750 with a car end can and that would not rev all the way up, but I think it was more down to carbs on that as they have 2 main jets and a pain to work on bloody hondas)
  6. Yes, just saying my old 2v GS1000 put more out, so yes I would also expect your 1127 GSX1100g 4v to be putting out a lot more If it was me, I'd forget about any advance on the cams etc just put them in at a standard TDC (which with slotted sprockets you can get it bang on ) that will give you a starting point and when you know you're getting the top end/bhp you're looking for you can start playing with the advance from there. Always good to have a good starting point you know is weight
  7. Built the Kat with with the 1127 oil cooled motor about 3+ years ago, the DVLA (sum wits) kept coming up with one thing after the next of why they could not change the V5 to the new engine number and cc, that it's still in the V5 as the old engine It's the same tax category the MOT man is happy to put the engine on the MOT as 1127 and the insurance have insured it with all mods listed (even engine) so who needs the DVLA not me A very big wast of are tax payers money
  8. Mmmm I would also be expecting around 100-115 bhp Thinking about it, my old GS1000G with a 1085cc kit in it did 89bhp on the Dyno
  9. Nice one, A stutter at about 5k would be the needle, I would think.
  10. I had the same think when I put the gsxr750wr swing arm, wheel etc in my Kat, got the how lot off a breakers who told me it all came off the same gsxr750wr. I ended up making a new spacer up between the wheel and caliper then triming some of the caliper mount down, it only needed about 3mm to work. Don't know if the breakers for some bits mixed up but never got to the bottom of it unless I got new spacers etc and that's if the say wheel is a wr but all works now.
  11. Ps, they are that good that when Miss W went and got a new vehicle, they told her that they cannot put it in her name as they think it's not a real name even after sending copies of passport and birth certificate. All they are are a bully.
  12. There is one very big problem with the DVLA and trying to sort/make sense with them, They are Walsh and have been told they have power
  13. I'd look at putting more like 144-155 main jets in. Miss W. on her gsxr1100 with 36mm carbs, K&N pod filters and cobra zorst with open can, is running 150 main jets, V&M jetted it years ago with the standard Cobra can with 144 main jets but when we put the more open can on it was a bit restricted at top so the 150 mains went i and it now runs very nice My Kat 1127 f motor with 38mm carbs, K&N pods and gsxr1000k1 down pipes and open can is running 155 main jets. Hope this helps.
  14. Can you swivel/move the bottom of the cooler out towards the front wheel, that will make the top of the cooler/fittings move/angle backward toward the frame and giving you more room around the fork area? ie, mount it at the same angle as the forks
  15. No, already got too many projects to do/ on the go I think 6 bikes between me and miss w, is enough and 3 of them are in project form at the moment and even in the bigger shed i can still run out of room
  16. As always @fatblokeonbanditfont of all knowledge on bandits So looks like I have a cdi for a pre production and if it works in a gsxr1127 I will keep it otherwise it's spare and will be out up for sale at some point (when I can figger out which box it's in )
  17. Also the mk1 96 had a different cdi to the 97 onwards found this out the hard way

    Rarity

Don't know about numbers (would be nice to find out, as you say) You use to see more EFE's about than Katanas, but as the EFE engine was sort after for a long time, I think a lot of them for dismantled for the engine, then put in drag bikes and chips etc. I think the KOC found out how many Katanas where still owned/tax via the DVLA.
  19. The cdi plugs are different between the mk1 and mk2 ? And the mk1 has a worm drive speedo the mk2 has a electronic Speedo ?
  20. Have you made any progress in it? And where is the project build updates with pics?
  21. I've always used Varta batterys, there a acid battery but sealed for life, the one I used on both my big bore gs1000 and the oil cooled 1127 motor is the Varta yxt9 which has a 8Ah capacity and CCA 135A , I know it's not the right spec for ever bike but it works Sizes W 88mm L 152mm H 106mm
  22. Ok, may be me but can't see how much fork oil to put in each leg in the gsxr1100k 89/90 RWU forks? Anybody know out there how many ml go in each leg? Thanks.
  23. Yes, b12 is good That will give you a better front end and much better brakes Once you get 50+ posts you will able to get into the for sale/wanted part of the site and get parts cheaper and better the off flebay
