What bars are you using, they look great? The width and bends are exactly what I am after for my GS1000. Tried a few now, but not happy yet.

The bars are Renthal 664 code but not forgetting the b6 yokes have a big rise on them as standard top of yoke to center of bar 55mm which make a big difference.

Pic to follow for you ;)

  2. Agree with @Gixer1460DJ kits work.

Got a set of gsxr750 38mm carbs on the gsx1100f motor that's in the kat, Spock to the lads at DJ UK and told them what the engine was what zorst and filters I was using, they set me a kit with no extra charge design for what I was running. After fitting it bikes runs very well. Top job (y)

  3. Cheers all :D

The way it's turned out it has been worth it, and can say it's a one off gs1000g xD fell lucky with the front mudguard colour as that's the standard rf600 colour and matches the rest of the bike colour

  4. Don't know what your building experience is but you have a lot of parts that won't easley go together.

Kat 1100 swing arm pivot spindle is much bigger than the gs550.

Kat front wheel in slabside forks never seen that before, I'd look out for some slabside wheels myself ;)

  5. +1 with viz (y)

Carbs are a one off design for that engine and they can be a real pain to get set up, good engines thow.

Interdiction in the general section hose down well ;) then start a project thread in project section with pics ;) and tell us your plans for the bike wealth of know how on here.

  6. I've always thought they are a good pipe, had one on a gpz1100, never had one on a dyno and compared it to other zorst. Never had the money to keep buying zorst just to see which would give a extra bhp, but by reading the stated bumf there never seen to be more than 2-5 bhp difference at the most. (And that's on bikes with a lot more bhp to start with. ie Black Widow zorst for a standard b12 they state 6 bhp increase with race can and thats a restricted 100 bhp bike)

if you want the bhp make sure you get a race can not a street legal one, quite means restricted VERY basically,

Fitting a km to miles converter on the cable (are these still available?)

Got one fitted to my Kat and not seen one new for sale for a long time.

The Kat has gsxr1100k wheel and Speedo with standard katana (kph clock with the converter fitted) and reads within 5 mph, never been done by a camera or by cops following me, so can't be to far out or under.

So, it's a real mix and match type of thing xD

    The bits are

Sv650 (99-02) front wheel and discs.

    Rf600 forks, and mudguard brace.

    Rf600 bottom yoke.

B6 wheel spindle, spacer, Speedo drive.

    B6 top yoke.

    B12 clock but with a b6 Speedo.

    B6 clutch perch.

    Gsxr600 k5-k6 front master cylinder.

Tomorrow I will be fitting the gsxr1000k1 6 pots. So I don't know how the standard brakes would fit and when it arrives a rf600 front mudguard.

Apart from making new lock stops it all went together very nicely.

So tomorrow jobs, sort front brakes, sort wiring and put front indicators on :D job done xD
