  1. Yep swap the leads from 1&2 to 3&4 etc and see if the problem change sides ;)

May also be duff pulgs, had new plugs before now that gave a good spark but would not run a cylinder, so if the lead bit dose not change anything try changing the plugs

  2. The swing arm, you can make spacers for the swing arm and it will safe, if you're worried about that make some sleeves out of steel to 1. Fit inside the standard swing arm points in the frame, make them to take up the extra room swing arm to frame 2. As they are make from steel you can then weld them to the frame and also brace them to the frame as well making them very safe ;)

You will find the standard gs650 tyres and size will not be able to cope with the extra power of the b12 motor, you will be adding about 50% power roughly.

  3. Welcome to OSS :)

If you're keeping the standard tank, you may need to move it up a bit so it clears the cam cover/carb tops.

@Nigkathas just done the same b12 motor in a gs650g frame may be worth a look ;)

I did a gs1000 using a G frame, made some top hats to weld into the frame where the swing arm threads are, then used a kwak zx9r swing arm (much wider at the pivot points than suzi) then made a one off spindle and some small spacers and weld shock mounts on the swing arm to keep it a twin shock. ( project is on the old site as project scrapheap.) Pic of the gs1000 chain drive in the G frame. ;)

  4. Hi and welcome to OSS

front end, yes you can keep Speedo drive, but I believe you will need to fit the gsxr brake discs to the bandit wheel. I presume it's a bandit 1200 front wheel your using?

Rear wheel, its been done many time so someone may be able to tell you.I

If not, best way to start is get a standard b6 wheel, wheel spacers, brake hanger and sprocket carrier, you can then offer it up to your bike/swing arm and see how far your out. Keep the spacer that sits between the wheel and brake hanger, you then know the brake is spaced out weight, then check the wheel is central to the frame/head stock, then look at chain alignment.

Or that's how I start these things xD

  5. All depends if you want to keep it standard or not?

You could use any of the oil cooled one's and/or kwak zxr, and most probably many more.I

Some of the know it all's will tell you that only a slaby one will work, but I've used different ones for different bikes with no problems.

  6. I believe the CDI from a slabside will not work with a 1127 or b12 motor, unless you get the engine pick up off a slaby, as the 1127 and b12 have a 2 pick up plate and the slant has a 1 pick up.

If not good old fashioned crash bars, don't like mushroom's as if the bike dose go over the mushroom is taking all the wait of the bike just on one m8 or M10 bolt in just one place, so more chance of damage due to transfer of energy to one place, where as crash bars will help spread the transfer of energy.

Or that's how I look at it :D

  8. When I was dispatched riding had a 250 was great around town but go on a motorway and it got imbarrasing, when it took what seemed like all day to overtake a hgv xD I think the best I got out of it was 65mph and top gear had no pull.

Got a 400 engine and carbs and it would do 110mph all day :D never got to know why the 250 had no top end even a wet dream had better top end but the 250 would rev to the red line in all but top gear, 4th gear would get there but slow, always seemed like top gear was just a overdrive gear.
