  1. I've never needed to use any,

the only thing I found, that being a smaller items (for the same teeth) and if you have the back jacked up you may find the chain hitting the swing arm.

Big debate as to whether you need to alter the teeth size xD I asked that question once and it went on for about 3 pages with some big arguments ;)

I found (on the Kat) going from a 530 chain with 47 rear and 15 front down to a 520 chain with same number of teeth the revs where lower in top gear, as if I'd put one smaller on the rear.

  2. Welcome to OSS ;) don't forget a intro in general section, helps to get people departing info (but like beer xD)

Try the search bit with bandit/blandit ignition switch etc, b6/b12 have a 6 wire ignition as other (gsxr) have 4 wire ignition (this will be revealed in a search) the gsxr cdi won't work on a bandit and the other way round.

I know the teapot triggers will work on a b6 so I'd just use all the b6 bits on the 750 engine, plug and play then.

I think the 750 red line at about 10,500? b6 are more 11,000

Don't forget the Read The Fucking Rules RTFR

And have a good look at Frankenstein page's kids of very good info there.

  3. Can't really help with this one apart from saying I've seen swing arm swaps done on 750es in the projects section.

if I remember correctly the main thing is the shock linkage?

Like most things how are you at fabrication?

  4. No great increase, you mite see 1-2bhp if you're lucky. With a heavy old beast like a gs1000 1bhp you may as well go and have a good sh#t you'd get the same result with the wait loss xD

it's not like putting a set of fast road cams where you can feel the difference.

  5. I've done/running gs750 cams in my gs1000 had them in for about 4 years, not had it on a Dyno.

Makes the 1000 a bit more revey but don't expect a huge difference, it's more like putting 98 fuel in the bike instead of the 95 xD

The GS850 cams will give the 1000 a bit more torque but similar to above not a grate deal.

Unless you need to change your cams for the messing with fitting them and re-shiming I would not bother for the gain you get, unless you just like messing just to see. xD

  6. Most would go for the K&N twin pod filters or if you're short on room Ram air filters ever single one per carb or twin pod type, but I believe you will need the air box link rubbers (stacks) for the twins.

had bad experience with the cheep ones before, there is a lot of the cheep ones on that site of bay that are the wright size (60mm) but then state are for 125-250cc. Sometimes you just say you get what you pay for ;)

  7. If you have the parts try it then you can tell us xD

One way to see if you're in the ball park have a look on the bay and see if the 650 and 750 zorst gaskets are the same size or not ;)

Didn't think the 650 down pipes fit the 750 because of the length, but I may be wrong on that one as it's been a long time since I've played with a 650/750

  8. Before anybody says RTFM I've not got one and the only part on my bike that's a RF is the forks so don't want to buy a manual just for the forks ;)

    So the question is,

I've got a set of RF600 forks and want to change the oil, can anybody tell me the amount of oil per leg and what the standard waigh it has

    Thanks ;)
