Will a gs550 one work?
Just thinking, as you can put the top end off the 650 onto a 550 bottom end and still use all the 550 electronic bits, the 550 CDI should do the same job as the 650?

Welcome to OSS,
Unless you like building engine's for the fun of it, not that much gane to be had.
-
Run the bike regularly and let it worm up over its lay up over the winter, then you keep oil going round all the moving parts and clutch, cams etc don't dry out and course you problems in spring

Just for info lol
The 85/86/87 and 90/91 750 barrels will fit the b6 bottom end.
I'm told and hope, as will be fitting some on a b6 bottom end in the future.

Valves are smaller and ports are way way smaller

Seat unit looks a lot better than that yellow thing

Nice to hear you've got it up and running

Nice to get bikes back on the road

You will need to remove all parts/jets from the carbs mian jets, pilot jets, pilot screws, also remove the emulsion tubes out of the carbs. If you have not got one, a manual will help at this point.
The diaphragms should be soft and flexible or they won't work (pictures always helps.
As @TonyGee says not having the air box on and the carbs not being jetted for the extra air flow will not help with the bike running problems.

If you've got the wheel in central and the chain run running straight, job do what's the problem apart from a misleading heading

Looks like a good turnout for OSS

Looks like I'm going to stick with the b12 carbs, they need a bit of force to get them to go on, but do fit with good rubbers ( not hard rubbers) going to have a play with the jetting, as I forgot I'd put 144 mains in to start with but never went any further as it had no stuttering or flat spots (just me being lazy
) so could be why it feels a bit over fueling at higher revs.
The b6 carbs are going to be a real pig to get on because of the smaller carb and spacing, may work better on a 850 or 750 with a slight smaller port spacing ??

You could always put the full size one on the back of your jacket, at least it can be seen from the rear

If you need something just to get it running and on the road, as above any of the oil cooled cams will fit, that are for the tappet type head.
Not 100% on the 600 models gsx600f/bandit 600
B12 will probably be the cheapest

I was of the understanding that the slaby cam covers where made of magnesium, and that's why they are lighter than the slingshot and bandit covers.
But like most things I could be very wrong

I just get one of the not for road use off that site, but unless you go upto Hartside you will never see a cop round
and I'd just say I'm a farmer, as they get away with anything around hear

Not much help, but I've seen gs750 with a gsx1100 engine, years ago you when you could pick a gs1000 engine for less than £100 because no one wanted them as they where putting the more powerful 1100 motors in
O how the world has changed

Got a rf900 bottom yoke with a b12 top mated, for sale
so you can put standard bars on
I thought the front forks where similar to the gsxr1100k which you can tweek to work very well.

Also, are you not getting a spark on all 4 cylinders?
If you have blown a fuse in a big way check that you still have main power
