  1. Can't say about a boosted motor but I have a gsx1100f with gsxr750 38mm carbs and a b12 motor with a ported DOT head and gsxr750 38mm carbs and gsxr cams.

Both are great fun but the b12 motor seems to have more fun grunt and just keeps going and going, on the other hand the gsx1100f motor, I can't keep the front wheel on the floor in 1st and 2nd and even 3rd can get light :D

    Ps.

the cams in the gsx1100f motor are the same part number as the gsxr1127k cams

    That bit for info ;)

Can anyone point me in the direction of some knowledge on the tin top 34s that come with these motors?

    In what way xD

They are a very good carb, the turbo boys will taire your arm off for a set, and they work very well on air cooled GS 2v and gsx 4v motors.

I've get a set of gsxr750 38mm cv on my gsx1100f motor and they are great.

I figured i'd take a look where the gear lever sits and see if i could find any obvious reason why the bike won't shift above 2nd, but i'll need the cover off sooner or later anyways. I have loosened the bolts for the cover but something is preventing it from coming off, do i need to unscrew the clutch cable where it enters the housing? (Picture)

You need to remove the cover bolts and the gear leaver (gear leaver 1x6mm bolt) then with a bit of wiggle it should come off.

  4. Ok just need to check this with you lot ;)

B12 (MK1) front wheel in gsxr1100 forks and yokes, which discs do I use?

I know (as on my gsx11et) gsxr1100k yokes but with b12 forks and wheel needed to use b12 discs, so do I use gsxr discs on the above or b12?

    Thanks.

  5. To fit a smaller lighter caliper is not going to be easy.

First, the later (say gsxr) calipers I believe have different bolt hole spacing and sit at a different distances (wheel bearing face to hanger).

You could make a new hanger to take all this into account and then fit any caliper you like, just check the distance from the Spock's to where the back of the caliper will sit to make sure you have the clearance.

The torque arm is the easy part. Ever weld a new mount on the swing arm or get a early gsxr torque arm that can be bolted to your frame and then to the caliper, then you can have it underslung.

i was thinking the same thing ?  his looks like the one on my 1100 though that doesn't mean it'll work. but i wonder how different they all are ?

Yes and it also looks the same as on the kat 750 (important one that looks like the 1100 lol )

Bit different but I'm running a gsx750f CDI on my b12 powered ET and it work just fine.

They all do the same basic job by turning the pulse from the atu to a signal to a coil to spark.

  7. Run the bike regularly and let it worm up over its lay up over the winter, then you keep oil going round all the moving parts and clutch, cams etc don't dry out and course you problems in spring ;)
