Any particular tyre? Can be quite a big difference between brands.

There was a post on here very recently that had bare weights iirc

I put a post up recently with weights of srad,rf9 and a zzr11.

I can see some tyres being different from one to the other but I can't see it being a great deal of kg

  3. Haynes manual only gives for slide carbs.

    VM22SS

    Main jet 80

    Air jet 1.4

    Needle jet 0-6

    Jet needle 5dl35-3

    Pilot jet 15

    2nd pilot jet 50

    Throttle valve cutaway 1.5

    Mixture screw 2 turns out.

    Hope that helps.

  4. Top end will swap, I think the crank, gear box and clutch are different.

You can use the gen and starter clutch on the 850, but you might find when you split the case's the crank and clutch will fit in.

Never striped a 750 engine all the way down.

  5. The only other wheel I know will fit in a gs850/1000g swingarm and hub, is a XV800.

You do need to remove the hub each time you want to remove the wheel, as the wheel rim is wider than the space between the hub and Rh side swingarm.

  6. Most people don't like the 6 pots, the 4 pots are better all round.

But I've got some gsxr1000 k2 6 pots on a gs1000 and using a latter gsxr radial master cylinder and they are much better feel than the early gsxr or bandit 6 pots, but the momenting holes are different on the gsxr1000 calipers but try a radial master.

  7. Yes the b6 sprocket cover goes straight on, instead of buying a proper push rod, get some 6mm round bar and cut that to size. I think the standard gsx1100f was about 102mm (without going and checking so maybe different) but a good start point.

The only way to find out about the clutch, is to have a look, always worthwhile with a unknown motor to remove the sump as well and have a look in the bottom of the engine etc.

  8. The gs850 too end on a gs750 has been done many times, so yes that part would work. You could bore the 850 barrels to take the 1000 sleeves, just check the 1000 pistons small end pin will fit the 750 crank.

You may also need to open up the 750 too casing to take the 1000 sleeves.

Recently  brought Gs 1000g  motor to strip out for the top end   as have my old bottom end (chain )  waiting for the barrels

What parts of the topend are not compatible

When you've removed the top end, if you don't want/need the bottom end, give me  a pm :tu:vu:

  10. Just looking on the bay b6 are the same as b12 20mm ?

So ever a top hat or a sleeve/tube to reduce the swing arm bearing size down to 15mm or drill out the frame pivot holes to 20mm.

I go for the sleeve way ;) if you don't need a small spacer each side of the swing arm if so then go for top hats.

Hi all , not gone shy,

been scanning through old posts trying to find out more  details on whats needed to get bandit wheels into a standard gs1000 frame..or which rear swing arm to go for

It all depends on what your skills are and how far you want to go?

Front end, easyer to swap front ends but do you want USD forks or rwu forks?

If you go for say rwu bandit forks, you will need to swap stems in the bottom yoke, as the bandit ones are longer than the GS/gsxr stems. Or (like I've done) you can go for a b6 mk1 front end, use the rf600 bottom yoke with the b6 top and forks, then get ever a rf600 front wheel or straight spoke b6, this will give you a 120 front tyre instead of the 110 both the rf6 and b6 use's the same brake discs, calipers, spindle etc.

Most of the gsxr slingshot front ends will go straight in but good luck finding one these days, you could also look at the sv650 front end but you will need to change the Speedo drive to a RF/b6 one.

Which ever way you go, you will need to look at sorting the lock stops out.

Rear end, the world is your to choose from, but do you want to keep the standard swingarm or put a new type in?

The smaller b6/rf6 and sv650 4.5" rim will be the easiest to put in but you will only have a 160 rear (if that matters to you) the bandit/gsxr etc will all fit the GS frame, but you may need to have some top hats made up depends on the pivot spindle size is (can't remember what the GS size is) also do you want it kept as a twin shock or single?

A single shock will involve some frame work for the top/bottom mounts, or you could weld some mounts on the swing arm to make twin shock.

You can get a 5.5" rear wheel in with the GS frame but you may need to change the chain and sprockets to a 525 or 520 to give you a bit more clearance on the frame.

Lots of questions you need to think about but now you have had a look about, start asking your questions, as above, this has been done meny times so lots of info people can help with.

Ask your questions, put some pics up, and start a build thread, we had to start somewhere (y)

Bit of a long reply but I hope it helps.

    maybe he's shy :D

But we don't bite, mutch xD

If he is about, the b6 rear wheel is much easier to get into the standard swing arm ;) but saying that, I've got a zzr1100 rear wheel in a b6 swingarm in a gs550 Frame, just needed to remove some of the frame at the pivots, all in my project thread (see how we go)

So I was curious and checked the part numbers. The gsxf1100 intake cams were used in everything from the gsxf600s, to gsxr750s, to gsxr1100s. The exhaust cams were only used in the following bikes.

Suzuki Motorcycle 1988 GSX-R750L CAM SHAFT - VALVE (MODEL J/K)

Suzuki Motorcycle 1989 GSX-R750L CAM SHAFT - VALVE (MODEL J/K)

Suzuki Motorcycle 1990 GSX-R750L CAM SHAFT - VALVE (MODEL J/K)

    Suzuki Motorcycle 1989 KATANA - GSX1100FP CAM SHAFT/VALVE

    Suzuki Motorcycle 1990 KATANA - GSX1100FP CAM SHAFT/VALVE

    Suzuki Motorcycle 1991 KATANA - GSX1100FP CAM SHAFT/VALVE

    Suzuki Motorcycle 1987 GSX-R1100 CAM SHAFT/VALVE

    Suzuki Motorcycle 1986 GSX-R1100 CAM SHAFT/VALVE

    Suzuki Motorcycle 1988 GSX-R1100 CAM SHAFT/VALVE

    Suzuki Motorcycle 1992 KATANA - GSX1100FP CAM SHAFT/VALVE

    Suzuki Motorcycle 1993 GSX1100F CAM SHAFT/VALVE

    Suzuki Motorcycle 1993 GSX1100FP CAM SHAFT/VALVE

    Suzuki Motorcycle 1988 KATANA - GSX1100FP CAM SHAFT/VALVE

Sorry, the parts site is calling them Katanas, not me. I also don’t have a gsxf1100 engine and don’t see myself getting one any time soon.

Never checked the numbers myself, just what I was told by someone on here.

    Good info (y)
