    GSX1100 E?

Thinking engine is ET (1980) or EX (1981) As far a I remember, mostly color and decals are changed. Nothing on the engine There was something about the footrest... One being aluminum, the other chromed pressed steel... And the instruments - the " check panel " are different... Or was that the difference between a 750 and the 1100. Pretty sure someone more experienced will teach us both soon. Welcome to OSS
  6. Not only I found a small loop hole to sneak it past the committee of approval I am currently fitting a gsx1400 engine in my 1985 gsx1100 EF... Motor is getting the big bore treatment, making it a 1700cc version. @Fula28placed a tuned gsx1400 engine in his OSS worthy frame, @Katanasteve placed a supercharged gsx1400 engine in his EF project... He has got a turbo project too. In stock form gsx1400's are even more banned on here than a bandit with twin dommies, renthal bar and a anodised engine bolt kit
  7. Wrong place to ask for that kind of advice. Just do it, you know you want too.
  8. Oww... and a dixie is a port a loo here in the netherlands... I hope you see a lot less assholes
  9. Can't you move to Europe mainland....? No need to change the speedo Welcome btw
  10. That is exactly the way I am measuring up my frame modifications ( albeit it i have a smaller laser spirit level ) Time consuming but it is nice to directly see the result.
  11. Hi, welcome to OSS. A grown up will hopefully get you some answers... Soon
  12. You have got massive power, causing huge amount of wheel spin thus lowering your read out.... Or something like that
  13. i was wondering about that when i sought a EF frame.. since i wanted mine to have a fairing. Because of that i searched the internet and found that most of the naked EF's with a recoated frame no longer had them. All nakeds with the part worn paint still sport them. I concluded most of them are de-lugged for a sleeker appearance before a refresh. i think the main difference between a (half)faired or a naked lies in what brackets the factory used ( 11 or 5 ) Above is my conclusion, so there is a chance a grown up will corrected me and prove me wrong.
  14. This company also sells them.... might be closer to you. http://www.airtech-streamlining.com/suzuz/GSX1100KATANA1982-83.htm i painted a new Fiberglass tail from Ricambi Weiss . no cracks in the paint due to shrinkage. Took my time to do the prep work The paint did crack eventually to me only using 3 fixating tabs , given it room to deform.
  15. Welcome. The 1150 engine you now have in the katana is considered to be the best combo and an upgrade to the stock 1100.
  16. He is only a boattrip or 2 away from you he is up north... In the Netherlands.

  19. FBoAB is indeed a member : "Fat bloke on a bandit" Try these topics ( or the search option, that's how i found these )
  20. The 1400 oil cooler is a big one. I think its even to big for the 1400. I base this on the fact that it has a thermo-switch Fan which never comes on, not even by Australian owners in rush hours when filtering through traffic. The use of a thermostat is a must in your case. I've got a bent one you can have to see if it fits. Alternatively I can give you the dimensions.
  21. Regarding the oil cooler on a Efe... I think I depends on your plan / use for it. Most of the guys who race the older models, older than the Efe, add a cooler to help and keep the oil temp down. They even claim a higher oil temperature results in a higher lap times. For commuting use, I think, the fins cool the engine enough. I have no first hand experience with it. I have always ran my efe with the stock oil cooler. Pretty sure more people will share their thoughts and views regarding the oil cooler.
