  1. looking for options on recovering the seat on the project katastrophic.....the seat I have is the original but has long since faded ( lost that velour texture) ......I kinda like the seat material those kwaka ELR 1000's had with the small criss cross weave patern but have no clue what it's called or where to source it . I remember that some other type of faux suede such as alcantara or something of the sort was being used but don't know if is any good for outdoorsy weather conditions ......any thoughts or input would be mucho appreciated .... pictures are a bonus ! ginal
  2. Ultrasonic bath ...... or vapour blasting .
  3. Gen 1 busa rods have identical size big/ small ends as oilcooled.....but are longer (119.5). The oil cooled are 117
  4. Yes..... and I think the 117's have the same size big / small ends .... straight fit on the oilboiler cranks
  5. came across these rods ...... they are apparently a Wiseco product . anybody try / use them ?
  6. any thoughts or experiences with newer gsxr 600 throttle bodies (8 injector type) ?
  7. that thing is tiny ........ what do you plan on putting it on ?
  8. Tungsten carbide drill should be up for the job......I don't think the countershaft is harder than 65 rockwell
  9. Go to the Setrab website.... sizes available for your aplication/HP .
  10. Care to elaborate on your set-up ? Ignition timing /comp ratio etc.... could be beneficial for others on the same quest
  11. The gsxr cams are shorter than the gsx...they do however drop into the gsx head ..... the inner 4 cam caps are doubled up on the gsx which will not work with the gsxr cams.... but..... The single cam caps on the gsxr will work . The cams being shorter will sit about 70 percent of the outer bearing surface on both sides .
  12. I will look into this as soon as I get to the workshop.... I too am curious to see if the cams are swappable .
  13. Are you sure your low comp test is not a result of poorly seated valves ? Do a leak down test first .
  14. If you are deleting the speedo drive ....... why all the fuss with spacers / bearings / disc sizes and such ? Just source a srad wheel and pop it in place . The bandit wheel and srad both have the same look / straight 3 spokes..... so sell the bandit crap and the rest is history .
  15. Hindle make a stainless steel 4-2-1 that hugs the oil pan ..... gsxr11......i seem to recall they fit the aircooled lumps as well . had one on my old fighter .
  16. How did that chain alignment work out for ya ?
  17. of course there is more clearance at the swingarm pivot area on an 1150 frame .....but the issue is with a et 750 frame......apples and oranges .
  18. all depends how the motor swap was done ....... centered in the frame or slightly offset?....front / rear wheel alignment?......I've done a few of these in the late 80's early 90's and even with the 530 chain conversion / gs 6 bolt hub (machined or not) flipped sprocket ....yada yada yada / 5.5 gsxr 7/11 wheel...... chain always made contact (slight) with the 180 tire (depending on brand) and always seem to rub (slightly) on the inner frame ....even with the flipped link .
  19. just an example pulled from the net ..... and yes...the guy who made it did a fantastic job .
  20. here are a couple of interesting designs.....
  21. the old site had a thread on plenums and designs.....perhaps a new thread could be beneficial for upcoming projects ! there are so many designs being used out there but how many are actually efficient ? pros / cons / do's and don'ts .
