  1. You have an engine, the motor starts the engine..
  2. Are they also in the UK? They didn't want to sell to me, I had to get them from Total seal Australia. Those Yanks don't like to sell to foreigners I notice quite often..
  3. I've got 78.25mm in my GS1000, that's 1245cc, and that is about the biggest you can go. For these barrels to fit in the crank case, material needs to be removed. No rocket science, but you have to be carefull at a few points not to take away too much.
  4. I'm more curious, where can you go flat out for that long?
  5. You reckon? It's pretty small, the exhaust turbine is small. What kind of car would have a smaller?
  6. The VF20 is a pretty small (ball bearing) turbo, primairy turbo from a Subaru Leagacy.
  7. Hmm, 3 broken alternators seem to be unlikely. All plugs free of corosion? I would make another wiring loom..
  8. Do those alternators have a build in rectifier/regulator?
  9. You managed to fill the oil holes on an angle in the heads?
  10. Update; Yesterday I could be bothered to have a look at the clutch ( I blame the alcohol). When I took the cover off I smelled there was something off straight away, I put about 15 grams extra weight on the lock up, but when I took the pressure plate off, I wanted to see if there was anything wrong in the clutch, I noticed that the fibre plate was blackish, I've got red/orange plates. I put a steel plate between the fibre plate and the pressure plate and the slipping is gone
  11. You can forget about to get a higher pressure, I tried that. It's all about flow. With 750 gears the pump spins faster, you can make a restrictor in the oil "line" what goes to the gearbox.
  12. The oil still get there via the head into the stud bores.
  13. Oil pressure is set by the smallest diameter in the system, if that doesn't change the rest can be as big you want. You don't need cam oileres, you can drill up the stud holes. But when the stock studs are used top end oilers aren't useful
  14. Oops, I didn't realise you meant that... I thought in tools, verniers and stuff.. My bad..
  15. Haven't read much... A digital gauge is NOT!!!! more acurate than a gauge with a dial.. That's all the information I can give you... Acuracy can mean 2 things, 0.1mm is 0.1mm, or you do a measurement 10 times, and 10 times you get (almost) the same reading.
  16. Too lazy/drunk to read everything; - Check valve clearance - Condition of spark plugs - check synchronisation of carburetors
  17. How does it run on a fully charged car battery? Disconnect alternator and let her run on the car battery.
  18. Is it an idea to make a wiring loom, a simple one, yourself? Simplicity usually rules..
  19. That's pretty simple, cut threat in the right hole, use liquid gasket screw a bolt in it and flatten that off.
  20. Why wouldn't it run without the vacuum? I disabled the whole vacuum thing of my GS, works like a normal tap now.
  21. What brand sparkplugs you have in? The manual for my GS1000 says Denso or NGK, but my bike runs like absolute crap on Denso. Took me while to figure that out..
  22. Does it idle alright? How's the throttle response? Did you measured the ignition timing on the proper side of the TDC? You wouldn't be the first who did that.
