  1. @Arttu, I try to understand your solution. Looks like your solution is a hell of a lot simpler then mine 1 is the main restrictor, what fits in the oil feed straight from the pump what goes under the oil pressure switch? The small hole allows oil flowing to the engine. 2 is a spacer? 3 and 4 I can't see what they do 5 is for oil pressure switch? 6 is turbo oil feed line? Getting oil pressure isn't hard, you just restrict the flow, problem is where to restrict it, and make sure the rest of the engine gets the right amount / pressure. If you have 3-4 bar when warm, don't you have too much pressure when the engine is cold? As far as I can see is that you restrict the oil coming from the pump, but where you connect your oil feed line, wouldn't you lose that pressure straight away? How do you do the scavenge from the turbo? Interesting, different people, different solutions. I always look at the ways of how other people do it, I usually can learn something from that, mostly I do a mix and match from different ideas.

  3. Valve clearence is between 0.03 and 0.08mm, cold This is for the 1000, I think the 750 is the same Head nuts are 35/40Nm Rotor 125Nm Clutch hub 70Nm M6 is about 10Nm M8 is about 14Nm
  4. You never get pressure with a GS engine!! Only when the engine is cold, I experimented with that. I've got a GS1000, with a wider pump, and I had an even wider home made pump and with 750 gear ratio, restriction in the oil gallery to the gearbox, and still no pressure, it did raise the pressure when cold, but that dropped when the engine warmed up.
  5. I think there's an oil pump from a GSX750 (plain bearing) what is about 5mm wider then the GS750 oil pump what fits the GS750. There are 10mm wide pumps, and 15mm wide pump, the 15mm wide ones do fit. But I don't know what goes/comes from where.
  6. Weld the crank? Hmm, when it was a 1000cc then defenitly, but I wouldn't be surprised if you just get away with it with a 750. I think you get about the power output of a 1000. But when in doubt I would do it. You probably need forged pistons. When you use a ball bearing turbo you might be lucky with the oil delivery.

  8. Does the oil gets pumped through the cooler when connected to that cover?
  9. Big bore and higher CR is nice! But before you do anything, make sure you've got a good exhaust! Don't get high performance cams on stock CR, it will make your bike slower. My advice, go for a big bore and higher CR, after that you can choose different cams. Hopefully someone can correct me, or add more information.
  10. Don't pin me on this, but I think the MY has also to do wit it. For some years the 750 is wider than the 1100, difference between roller bearing and plain bearing.

  13. I'm aware of that, but I thought that the tyre I have on was higher as the stock GS tyre, for some reason I thought that the GS had a 18" rear wheel..
  14. Gents, Not a problem, just curious. About 13 years ago I modified my GS1000, I put other wheels in it, both 17", and I think I kept the stock gear ratio, but after rebuild it felt like it had more like a close ratio gear box, and the top speeds throughout the gears were lower. Rides pretty nice, but now with the big bore I always want to shift another gear up I just assumed I had put a smaller rear wheel in it, and that caused it. But I looked up some specs from the GS1000, and that said the stock rear wheel size is 17", if that's correct then my bike should have the same properties as before the modifications. I did have an old Marshall exhaust on it before, not the trumpet, but the one with a 7cm diameter can, sounded VERY nice, raw, bike went like a rocket on it. But that exhaust was unfortunally rusted through and couldn't find a similar one, so I put a Marving Racing on it, not exactly a high performance exhaust. An exhaust can't give the feeling of a close ratio gearbox, can it? Does anyone know the stock sprocket size from the GS1000? Thanks

  16. With stock studs you don't need modification, with bigger studs you can drill up the holes in the cylinder block and partly the head.

  20. Are they also in the UK? They didn't want to sell to me, I had to get them from Total seal Australia. Those Yanks don't like to sell to foreigners I notice quite often..
  21. I've got 78.25mm in my GS1000, that's 1245cc, and that is about the biggest you can go. For these barrels to fit in the crank case, material needs to be removed. No rocket science, but you have to be carefull at a few points not to take away too much.
  22. I'm more curious, where can you go flat out for that long?
