    Catch can

1986 1100 slabby. 36mm flatslides. do they need a catch can? i had the top breather hose running to a filter but it soon cloged up then had it above the chain but was getting oil driping, i have it runing into a plastic bottle now with a filter on top, but thinking maby a catch can would be better? but do you have the outlet running to the carbs? and how?

  4. Yeah they differ. I thought about a clutch basket mod for my 1100f but first tried a 1100r slave wich improved enough
  5. Ahoy, Hive mind needed, my clutch has, for as long as I can remember been piss weak. It would always creep. I've changed m/C's, Hoses, slave cylinders twice over. Recently bought a Hel m/c and much the same. I have a collection of slave cylinders off various things and never measured one until I was googling Oberon slave cylinders and found an old post on here by @wraithhaving the same problem and he said about different sizes. I went and had a rumage and measured a few. The one on the bike was 38mm and found a 35mm so I've done a swap (actually twice, 1st 35mm one leaked) to see if that helps. It was too late to take the bike out and see if it helps. Anyhoo, does anyone know if the size difference is gsxr Vs gsxf or something else?
  6. Here's the thread where "Chris12" was banned, he got 10 posts in before the ban hammer hit him on the head.
  7. Looks like a similar set up to a Mille
  8. Got better picture of it straight on from the side view @Ragerover Looks very similar to the R1 setup to me though.
  9. I was out of commission for a while so didn’t update. The gasket fitted fine and I reused the half moon rubbers with a bit of black silicon-just in case. Just over 1000 miles done since and all good. Thanks to all for the info.
  10. yeah thats how i see it
  11. both mate !!!! not stripped it yet but i just know their is worn teeth by the sound and a whine from a bearing
  12. I used a chinglish lockset on my old EFE and it worked fine, just wired the resistor inline with the earth on the cdi
  13. To me it looks like minimal compression with the shock moving slightly forward
  14. anyone got a spare good gearbox they would like to sell ? can't put up with the grumbling and whining of mine im def in one ear atm and i can still hear it !!!!!!

    Big bore?

Well it’s all in. Tried to fire it up tonight. Take a lot to crank it and even with ether it didn’t even cough. So evidently no spark. Gotta figure that one out but I’m running out of time. Supposed to leave Friday for a week long trip and I was gonna try and break in the engine on the ride. I bought a 2011 KTM990 Adventure last Saturday. So I guess I’m gonna be on two wheels. Damnit

  17. I thought it was ok as it was cheaper but i noticed the difference when i used better quality oils. But that was in oil boiler suzukis so might be better in an air cooled lump.
  18. On the back if you strip the ign switch down you will find the resistor that no one knows about. A security measure that the repair manuals do not cover. It measures 100 ohms and is in line in the power circuit to the ECU to stop hotwiring the bike.I have used 4pin gsxr ignitions wired up to blandit looms by fitting a 100 ohm resistor into the ecu wiring a few times in the past.I`m no electrics expert,i found it all on the interweb ages ago.
  19. Didn't he pop up on here some time ago with a thinly disguised plug for his business ? I seem to remember that he was not best pleased with contrary opinions as to where the sun did actually shine from and has not graced us with his presence since .........................lol.
  20. Not me personally. I use rock guardian 10w40 in all mine. Sure it's ok though.
  21. Anyone used Mannol oil ? Just asking.. Thanks
  22. Thank you very much Guys, heard mixed reports myself, which is why I asked the experts. May have been interested in the Spondon Dezza mentioned, unfortunately did not see it. Would probably prefer something which needs some minor work, as I am firmly in the 20% tax band for wages. Will sell a couple of bikes and see what comes up in future. Regards Rob.
  23. I have a china GSXR ignition switch on one of my bikes for over two years now and it works fine. Got it with some other parts I bought so I dont know what it cost originally, but it is definitely not oem
  24. Not 100% sure but i think the ECU on a blandit needs to see a resistance or signal from the switch otherwise no spark .. i'm sure an Adult will give the proper answer soon
  25. Sort of (IMHO). I think a lot of the issues with small companies and the self employed stem from a single issue. People seem to think that because they're good at something they can work for themselves no bother. They trouble is that they, and a good many others, don't realise that being good at something and being able to run/manage a business are two very different things. Some can do one or the other, very few can do both. Being good at what you do, and/or being a nice well meaning person will only carry you for a short while. Unfortunately I can think of quite a few who are good at what they do, and great to chat to but couldn't run a business if their lives depended on it.
  26. Now that is a different level. There are very few talented fabricators that know how to run a business.
