Tony H Posted November 11, 2017 Posted November 11, 2017 Hi. I was wondering what the reiability of the facet pump is like when used as scavenge from low mounted turbo? I know they are a popular solution but if working directly off the turbo is there a limit to how long they last? Pic is one on my motor but hasn't seen any real use yet. Cheers Quote
vizman Posted November 11, 2017 Posted November 11, 2017 had one on mary for two years doing 400 miles a week, no problems. 1 Quote
Paulm Posted November 11, 2017 Posted November 11, 2017 Mine has lasted four years with no trouble, only changed it because we built a new turbo kit,so had new fuel and scavenge pumps as well. Quote
Tony H Posted November 11, 2017 Author Posted November 11, 2017 Great Were your pumps conected directly or via a small tank/resevoir? Quote
vizman Posted November 11, 2017 Posted November 11, 2017 direct on mine and the dudettes d/t turbos Quote
bruteforce Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 Same here, Facet pump works great and has served me well on lots of trips. Bought two at the time, never needed the spare so far. Fitted directly under the turbo without tank. Quote

CossiEst Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 Mine's has been running for 2 years now. I guess the pipework is overkill, but i've had no leaks since fitted those, and it looks good 1 Quote
jsumu Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 Hi, Could someone tell me what facet model is that pump? Used to use electric gear pump, but size and power consumption isnt really useful. No wondering between new headers or this facet pump, if it really is so reliable as peoples here tells. And forgive me my bad english. Quote

Olekat Posted November 11, 2018 Posted November 11, 2018 How noisy is this pump? Ive had a facet pump on my old pick up truck and it was very loud Quote

clivegto Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 You only hear it with engine off on start up when letting it clear the oil before start up. Quote
Olekat Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 I want a mechanical scavenge pump but I am having trouble finding one that requires very little modification. I can build one but Im being lazy and looking for an easy solution. I might go this route because of cost and availability. Quote
