no class
..... while checking the upper case on my spare 1052 gsxr motor as it will be fitted with bandit 12 barrells.....I noticed the amount of surface area around the lower cylinder mating surface compared to the bandit is quite a bit . Now.... seeing how this 1052 has already been bored to accept 1127 barrells.....has anyone compared the 1127 upper case to the bandit case ? The sleeves are larger on the bandit and the upper case has very minimal boring .....I do believe the gsxr 1127 has a slightly smaller case opening...... perhaps the castings were modified from Suzuki when the bandit was introduced ? colinworth79
I cant see any external differences between my bandit 12 and 1127 engines apart from the amount of material around the gearbox output bearing as a bandit runs a double roller output bearing. Bandit liners are 1mm bigger o/d and I think Suzuki just machines the cases out slightly to except the bigger bandit liner . Quote Link to comment

Unfortunately I don't have an empty 1127 case to compare with . Edited November 19, 2017 by no class Quote Link to comment

no class
I can't recall if a b12 cylinder block drops onto the 1127 motor without opening the case..... such as a 1127 cylinder to a 1052 case. Quote Link to comment
FJD
i bring this thread up now, because i´m playing with my big block and would like to fit this in V719 engine cases (Bandit 1200 and Inazuma), which should be a street-sleeper with no external oil lines to the head. Is there a preferred model where there is enough meat around the oil feeds, that you don´t break through when machining for big block ? Quote Link to comment
Gixer1460
I can only speak for my engine that uses 85mm bored (ie 6mm over stock) liners in 'M' cases and doesn't have external oil lines. Mind you i've never had the bottom end apart since it was built so I don't know if the builder did something 'clever' in the oil jet area to compensate for the bores. Looking at the pictures above an additional 3mm boring would get the metal separation pretty thin IMO! Quote Link to comment
clivegto
I have a 1340cc on bandit crank cases that does not require external oil feeds to the head, it still runs as standard oil feed. 2 Quote Link to comment
FJD
Did you build the engine yourself ? Have the liners been shaved on the outside ? At the moment im stripping my cases to get better measurements. Edited October 6, 2022 by FJD Quote Link to comment
jonny1bump
I machine the 1127 cases for bandit block as found liners fret on cases if you don't and you have to force them onto the dowels if you don't its only small amount. Just what I do. Edited October 2, 2022 by jonny1bump Quote Link to comment
clivegto
No I didn't build the 1340cc motor but I have a 1277cc motor that's been in bits for a while. The bottom of the liners have been machined down with just a little machine work on the 1127 cases to fit them. Quote Link to comment
opalmanta
Is the step at the bottom of the sleeve flush with the bottom of the block ? Quote Link to comment
FJD
Yesterday i took the studs out, and put the upper engine case on the milling machine. Looks like it is a 18° angle from vertical. Quote Link to comment
