clivegto Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 Been mesing about with engine position & where ever I fit it the kit I have does not look like it will bolt straight on. Looks like a bit more head scratching, turbo was designed to fit a Kat. Quote
FJD Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 Dont tilt that carb like that. Unless you wheely all the time... Quote

clivegto Posted November 25, 2018 Posted November 25, 2018 (edited) Still messing about with the engine position, this pic is with it in the middle down pipes fitted & turbo roughly positiond. Nowt fits but the swinging arm position don't look to bad to me. Edited November 25, 2018 by clivegto 1 Quote
nlovien Posted November 26, 2018 Posted November 26, 2018 for me - pic looks like the the engine is sitting high at the back - I generally aim for the sprocket c/l +/- 5 to 10mm below the line between rear sindle and swing arm pivot - when the arm is raked maybe 10 to 15 deg reason ? - copying - seems to be the ballpark and hence can only presume works ref: squat - also - imagine the suspension bottomed out - will the lower chain run clear the swing arm ? Yea think your right, spent quite a few hours mesing about with engine & turbo kit position. Looking like most the turbo stuff is junk. Quote
bluedog59 Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 IIRC, one of my "heavyweight" chassis tech books says something about 16 deg but I can't remember if it was laden or unladen. Quote
clivegto Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 More playing around with the engine position it now sits lower & more central. 1 Quote
clivegto Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 This is a pic of the turbo kit on its last owners bike that I plan to fit to the Harris. 1 Quote
clivegto Posted November 28, 2018 Posted November 28, 2018 Well if I am going to fit this draw through turbo the engine has to go further forward than the last pic because the turbocharger hits the frame rail that mounts the shock. Quote
