Jinxy Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Can anyone tell me if the Bandit block is a straight swap for the 11 slingy one in 1216 form? Just want confirmation it'll fit before I throw money at something I shouldn't! Quote
colinworth79 Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 1216 kit uses the standard blocks liners . I think the bandit 12 had 1mm thicker liners so you would have to gain that clearance in the crankcase but not 100% sure . I have a bandit 12 block on the shelf that i can measure if some one else can check the gsxr block . I asume its a 1127 motor ? Quote
Slabby11 Posted July 16, 2016 Posted July 16, 2016 I've got a bandit 12 block on my 1127 - dropped straight on Quote

Slabby11 Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 I've got no info there - i'm fitting busa pistons Quote
Paulm Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 (edited) So you're going to turbo it then? Otherwise the comp will be too low won't it? Edited July 20, 2016 by Paulm Quote

jameskat Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 Gen 1 Busa pistons, gen 1 Busa rods and a spacer plate to make the squish right and still lower compression. Quote
Slabby11 Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 Yep, compression would be too low for N/A so i'm going to play with EFI for a bit and then turbo it. A dot head would give back a bit of compression but I still don't think it would be enough. Quote
jonny1bump Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Bandit block is slightly bigger diameter liners, crankcases will need slightly relieving to match by machining or die grinder budget no machine availability method. Yes people do force them into place ( brute force and ignorance or flattened worn dowels) which will cause liners to fret. 2 Quote
Slabby11 Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 Mine dropped straight in nice as you like, bandit base gasket and job done, no brute force needed. Quote
jonny1bump Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 I can assure you that's not normally the case at all, I bet if you applied micrometer blue you would see contact. Quote
rustychain Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 from what i can remember mine just touched. had to grind a bit out Quote
