RS Carbs… generally work straight out of the box?

Do RS Carbs when bought new generally work as set up from the box… straight on bike & run?… obviously fine tuning will be required !? :S

Also if so… will they work on all O/C engines straight off… whether 600/750/1127/1157 GSXR/F/GSF Mk1 & Mk2… or do I need to order for the particular model I require !? :$

My RS40s worked out the box on a 1340 motor 

If you size the carbs for the correct engine size you should not have an issue starting it.....

they come with main installed and one up and down as spares

RS38 worked fine for my 1216, like said, select the right size. 

I would venture to say that for a totally standard engine you could use a size under.

I'm thinking that it would improve lower rpm torque, thats widespread knowledge, but since they flow more than CV carbs, you may not have the associated and as big of a loss in higher rpm HP than when you fit smaller CV carbs.

RS34 on a Bandit 12 engine for example could prove a good combo

@Gixer1460could probably help with some engine expertise on this claim

Agreed on that - a M8 with a well tuned Blandit fitted some FCR41's and had them properly set up - but, although excellent power, proved not good on the road. Changed to RS36's = night & day difference, still good power 150's hp but torque to die for! If it was std'ish Blandit say, 34's would surprise a lot of people!

I have RS38s on an 1127 and they're boring in town, but they make up for it in the mountains where they can be wide open. If I was going to be sensible and it was going to spend most of it's time in town I'd probably go with RS36s for more usable bottom end power.
