Paulm Posted September 20, 2021 Posted September 20, 2021 Well I've finally got a Harris after 40 years of wanting one, aint pretty at the moment but it will be (hopefully) Frame isn't as rusty as it looks, picked it up on Saturday at Melbourne Raceway,it gone off to be blasted clean and primered for the time being, plan is turbo oil boiler,Spondon arm,T595 front end,Pretech calipers and at the moment 5 spoke Mille wheels,I have found a pair of 3 spoke CMA's that I quite like though, also the 595 front end is already set up for a Mille wheel so I may well take that route, seat unit is yet to be decided on. 15 Quote

Wagola Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 Looking forward to this one. Hopefully give me a bit of inspiration for my Mag 4 build ! Quote
Paulm Posted December 8, 2021 Author Posted December 8, 2021 It's been a while, cut a load of shite off the frame, subframe was awful and the shock mount cross tube looked like it was made of exhaust tube!! So a length of new tube is on the way to replace the subframe in the same style as the original Harris one and obviously the shock mount tube.Spondon arm is now fitted to the frame and the engine is pretty much mounted bar a few spacers. 3 Quote
Paulm Posted December 9, 2021 Author Posted December 9, 2021 Well, got a nice surprise tonight,me pal has started making the subframe,it follows the original nicely on the other frame, really pleased with that. 3 Quote
clivegto Posted December 10, 2021 Posted December 10, 2021 Looks good, nice looking shock as well Quote
SiBag Posted December 11, 2021 Posted December 11, 2021 What tubing are you using for the subframe Paul? Quote

Paulm Posted December 11, 2021 Author Posted December 11, 2021 Well I appear to have a subframe now 12 Quote

Paulm Posted December 19, 2021 Author Posted December 19, 2021 So,we now have the engine mounted properly as well and shock mount made ready to be brazed onto the shock tube which also needs brazing into the frame, picking a Nitron remote reservoir shock up tomorrow, then the mount and tube can be fitted to the frame. Next job then will be to make the shock mount to fit to the Spondon arm that's going in it,then it can be put onto its wheels and we'll have a roller. The engine might not look level in the pic but it is,just how pic was taken. 17 Quote
Paulm Posted December 20, 2021 Author Posted December 20, 2021 Picked the shock up today, nice little unit. 5 Quote
