Maggotbreath Posted July 26, 2021 Posted July 26, 2021 Anyone know what's involved in swapping in a GSX1100G rear wheel into a GS1100G. I seem to recall that it's possible but not entirely sure. Looking at pictures the drive hub seems to be the same. What about the disk. Seems like a cheep enough swap I'll probably get the wheel and go for if nobody knows. Quote
TonyGee Posted July 26, 2021 Posted July 26, 2021 can't say i know the answer to this but, if both bikes share the same drive shaft hub then i imagine it'll be a straight swap ???? 1 Quote

Use the vx800 disc and caliper etc and you will have no problems. I was told the gsx one will fit but never tryed it myself but I can't see why it would. Ps the gs850/1000/1100g all have slightly different gearing in the hub and all interchange, so if you wanted to play about with the gearing that's the way 4 Quote

TonyGee Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 i like that wraith its something different a lot of people don't bother with shaft driven bikes !!!! dont know why i think they are great ive had a few, the only problem to me is getting a wide wheel in, but its not impossible but can be expensive 2 Quote
wraith Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 You can get a 160 tyre in without to much hassle or being expensive. Going for a 180 is where it gets hard, but the 160 rear really suites for handling side of things. 1 Quote

vizman Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 It wasn’t definite or clear so I read it as a question rather than a statement. Quote
jensvonbustenskjold Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 I'm afraid of raising the question, but seemed like the proper thread. In search of wider rear wheel on a GS G, has any one used another manufacturer for swing arm and shaft? A modern Guzzi, beemer, or any thing other "modern"? 2 Quote
