Exhaust bolts

Hi all,

Just after a bit of advice....what type of header pipe bolts should I replace my existing ones with...or is it better to put in some exhaust studs . It's an 1100f.

I used studs with copper nuts just in case but see most use bolts.

Stainless bolts with plenty of copper slip here. Mind you, my downpipes are spring fit so never need to disturb them.

i use stainless allen bolts on the bandit with copper grease,  i try to take them out once a year for a clean up and regrease

Stainless cap head bolts/set screws have generally worked for me. Always use copperslip or similar. Bolt length varies according to the nature of the system and how it's attached to the head, which varies among and within manufacturers. Depending on the combination of exhaust system, frame, and engine it may be that using studs and nuts make things easier all round, especially for socket access and the need to remove other components or not when re-fitting the system after removal. Trial and error I suppose.

Stainless allenbolts, nordlock locking washer and copper grease. Works fine whit stainless exhaust manifold. Whit out nordlock, bolts was loosening up..
