  1. After consuting with my Guru - there's 2 options - Use an oil cooled GSXR spring, or 2 GSX springs.
  2. You can do the 2nd detent mod with dropping the sump from memory. Can't remember what the 2nd spring was from though.
  3. Yeah, that's the GSXR one - the notches in the top corners are for the cold air pool pump hoses I think.
  4. The actual Yoshi heatshield kits are a roll of carbon with a very flexible resin (I have one, need to change fuel taps to gain clerance to fit it - stupid Pingel). - Yoshi Johnny has nicked the sign from outside his workshop The Yosh kit using a flat piece is smart because it means even for the GS/GSX motors, the ~4 different heights are covered. I assume the GSXR "pattern" that everyone uses came from a kit manual or something - it's very different to the one in the Yosh drawings.
  5. Hunting the same set of bearings, and the fuckers are saying it's *under* the minimum weight they'll ship to Australia. Seriously, WTF? Meanwhile, All Balls want $40USD for just the upper bearing (with spacer and dust cover), $56.75USD total if you include the lower, plus $45 shipping - Get fucked!

Have to stretch the frame ~1" to fit the aircooled GSX1100 motors - Bandit/GSXR is your best bet.
  7. RGV 250 rad mounted high (where original oil cooler was), second rad under seat like an oil boiler race kit? Split rads like a SP1/SP2 race kit?
  8. Wonder how much work is in putting a w/c in an oil cooled frame?
  9. If you want *really* revvy, chuck a gas turbine in it.
  10. Love the "I wish I was a Bimota" paint on this one: For those Brembos you should be able to find a dual disc Ducati or Guzzi fitment master that's 80's tastic.
  11. Interesting - was preparing myself for offset sprocket fuckarounds.
  12. Bugger - eating it's cams is no fun. I need to spend some quality time with the lathe to get mine sorted... might be after christmas, I've got a timber deck to build
  13. Figure out how much it's out, then send them off to be re-calibrated by a gauge specialist?
  14. Yeah - was talking to the dude about it - that's part of the link. Did see they were a Gazi distributor on their website. I wish Gazi weren't such horrific looking things.
  15. Bizzarely, was in the local bike wreckers today - they're tied in to Gazi suspension some how, and amongst the stuff hanging on the walls in the shop part were a pair of very nice exhaust systems - both Jaygui - one Stainless, one Titanium. Looked to be very nice pieces - very well put together with nice merges, nice tapered sections - genuinely nice bits of kit.
  16. Oh yeah, GXS750 oil pump gears was the other thing. No need for the external lines - they're pointless bling unless you've got a heavy duty stud kit that blocks the oil feed. My RS's had been fucked with so I could (initially) never get them quite right - then I discovered they'd had a different needle fitted. Ordered correct needle, started at the out of the box setup. I tried a couple of different jet sizes (up and down from stock), picked the one that felt like it ran hardest, Tried adjusted needles up and down to get the mid throttle feeling right, (i think i'm half a notch off the middle), called it done.I think I set the accelerator pump up so it didn't hit till 1/4 throttle to smooth the transition when feeding power back in while cranked over. Really, not difficult. Just make sure you don't do like I did initially and thread your throttle cables down the side of the frame so you can swing the rack of carbs out without having to disconnect throttle cables (I initially weaved through the top of the frame. It was a shit idea). Or you can take it to someone with a dyno and they'll put a sniffer up it's bum and set it up that way. I fitted a Pingel - i'm thinking I'll go to a WC 750 or 1100 fuel tap, the pingel doesn't clear what I want to do with a heatsheild. Reality is you can feed plenty of motor with the stock petcock unless you're doing banzai runs at 180mph down the motorway.
