  1. Well, the spec I've got is ported head with big valves, 1170cc, Cams are a VHR042 on the intake, Cam motion G3s, RS36s, oil cooler (it gets pretty fuckin hot down here in Oz), Dyna Coils (my originals were fucked and breaking down @ about 9,000rpm), a mod to the cases to reduce pumping losses, a mod to the oil pickup to stop pulling air, a welded 2nd gear... It works pretty good.
  2. I have a sneaky suspiscion that all the Suzuki speedo drives are the same drive ratio, and the calibration is done in the speedo itself...
  3. wound up costing ~$350 AUD, so ~170quid-ish - Pretty spendy, but I dont have the machining/heat treatment contacts I used to Should be able to heat treat at final size - that's what they did for mine. My theory with the other washer is trying to improve the oil feed to the sprag past the sprag segments - the GSXR i assume has a high pressure feed to the the bushing in the centre of it's gear, so probably pushes a bit more oil out to the sprag peanuts. Yeah, Being in Oz can be a real pain - more so since UK Post cranked it's rates right up.
  4. Got my gear back from grinding and hardening - I think i should have shopped around a bit more to find a cheaper grinder/heat treater - Ouch! Still, looks mint, is hard as hell and a perfect size/finish. I think i'm going to use the OEM bronze washer, and knock up a thinner washer to sit at the other side of the starter gear between the gear and the sprag/rotor.
  5. Yeah, my 18" front wheel with Kat speedo drive makes my Slabby clocks read about 10% high (reads ~110 at 100). I should really investigate slotting in a slabby speedo drive.
  6. Ok, well I guess i'll have to hunt down a set of 750 or 1100 W carbs... pain, but no biggy.
  7. Are they really a different spacing to air/oil engines? The WP750 I've bought in bits is minus its carbs because the previous owner has fitted them to his EFE (along with the front and rear ends)
  8. Face that sits on the cam - just removing the step. Highlighted in red below:
  9. Here's a shot highlighting what you grind - if you just knock it back to flush with the rest of the bob weight, it works pretty well. Italso slows the rate of advange a tiny bit, which helps with the pinging at ~3000rpm that these things can suffer from.
  10. The other trick is to pull the advance mechanism apart, and grind the inner stops off the bob weights completely - retards the ignition at starter speeds over stock, max advance stays the same. Worked a treat for my high comp 1170
  11. Interesting - which model of RR? Don't mind the way this one looks - I question the measurements though! http://www.superhawkforum.com/forums/attachments/technical-discussion-28/4288d1230007890-swingarm-measurements-comparisons-954_swingarm.jpg Bugger. Have also found a 750 arm, but it's on the other side of the country and not cheap... and it's also the braced style, think I like the 93 model arm more now...
  12. Didn't even know Danmoto were doing ti now... been a while since I looked at exhaust stuff!
  13. Is the 1100 arm's extra length really going to make much difference to the way a 750 behaves?
  14. Ok, cheers. Looks like I might wind up trying to wedge an 07/08 R1 rear into it...
  15. Next Question - will a 180 or 190 go into a WP?
  16. Cheers - will keep an eye out for a 750 arm then.
  17. Anyone know if the 93/94/95 750 and 1100 swingarms are the same length (and what those lengths are?)? Gut feel says the 11 will probably be longer...
  18. Agreed to buy a 750WP for $500AUD (~250quid) - its a little incomplete - basically the engine/carbs/frame/tank/fairings - no loom, no cdi, no front or rear suspension.... guess I better start finding bits...
  19. I believe he's been doing work for others and enjoying his GSX7/11 of late.
  20. I looked at getting a set of rockers resurfaced here - it was actually cheaper to buy new
