  1. Plug caps, try swapping them around & see if the issue moves with them.
  2. Thanks Gixer1460 & Swiss Toni, I have them all.
  3. It's mostly for the lighting circuit, I think most colours will be the same on the 750/1100s of the same era. Many thanks, could I try the Kat one?
  4. Many thanks, could I try the Kat one?
  5. Does anyone have a diagram on file that they could share? Thanks.
  6. If the plug is dry after driving it then it's not getting fuel. Strip the carbs again.
  7. Not sure how close the 550 frame is to 750 but the 1100 A/C engine fits easily in a 750.
  8. Does anyone with a GS750/1100ET 7/11 know if the head & barrels can be removed with the engine in situ? I suspect the mounts may have to be removed to lower it but having never tried I'm not sure. My old girl cold seized when I foolishly left it for a few years without oiling the bores first. I freed it off but it has been a bit oil thirsty ever since so it may be time for an 1170 & a head freshen up.

    Bugger

Get a flex head magnet and stick it in there, might save you a job.
  10. The USA called it a GS, I'm not sure if there was a 16v custom officially imported but may be wrong.
  11. From memory there were issues with early DJ kts when the needles were turned leaving microscopic machining marks that acted like a tiny file hence the worn emulsion tubes. They later made them by drawing from solid leaving a smooth surface.
  12. I have RS34s on a std 1100ET engine & it runs beautifully.
  13. This place might be of use https://www.rsbikepaint.com/en-gb/colours.php
  14. I found this place that may be usefull to others https://www.rsbikepaint.com/en-gb/colours.php
  15. You can split & re rivet a std chain, I've done dozens of them. You can buy a splitter for cam chains, google it & you'll find them.
  16. I think this colour is candy gypsy red but can anyone confirm? I picked this NOS tail piece up intending to have it painted black to match the current bike but it's such a lovely colour I might get the bike painted to match it! Just found the part number 45510-45001-00J but I don't know if any of the number denotes a particular colour.
  17. Have you got sparks to 1&2 but not 3&4?
  18. Welcome, not many left as tidy as that.
  19. EFE in a Kat all day long. Keeps it period.

    Petrol type

Oh & drain the carbs regardless.

E10 is the devils work, stick to E5 & if you're parking the bike up over winter either drain it or fill to the brim & put fuel stabiliser in it.
  23. Great idea thanks, I'll start looking.
  24. Has anyone here tried converting 1100E wheels to run tubeless tyres? It's commonplace on spoked wheels especially in the adventure bike world & seems to have been done on a few other makes such as https://wildguzzi.com/forum/index.php?topic=99834.0 Please, no advice on if it's a good idea, I just want to know if anyone has actually done it successfully on a star wheeled Suzuki?
