  1. I found when I first started building the gsx1157et (b12 motor) that the tank stat in the right place with the standard b12 head but when I fitted the gsxf dot head the carb top where just hitting the tank by APX 5-10mm ish (didn't Messer it) also I was using gsxr750 38mm carbs and rubbers, don't know if that makes a difference.

Ps, FBB maybe the man to ask as he's done one or two head jobs

  2. If it's the gsxr1100 ghj rear you have?

Should have a jt830 rear sprocket so same as bandit 600/400 etc etc

Have a look on JT sprockets site, it's a good site to compare sprocket types.

  3. Mite not be of use, but have you looked at getting a gsxr750wr wn etc swing arm?

Just that it fits slingshot and comes with a brace as standard that's looks similar to the ones in the pics (above posts) with braces welded on. Would seem easy way do get a brace swing arm instead of getting 2 swing arms and cutting one up and then the hassle of jiging it up and welding it.

  4. Got some off that site, nice and cheep :D

so will see how they go/look and will put pics up on the project thread.

Mite work ok, as looking at putting some of them crash mushroom things on and could make a bracket off these engine bar things ;)

I will keep the project thread updated so you all can see what you can do will a gsx1100f (the whale) (y)

  5. Lol takes more than that to bother me xD

I just like doing something people don't and make them look twice :D

Looking at my gsx1100f I don't think many people will know what it is and that's what I've always liked but not had a bike like that for some years.

  6. Ok,

Doing the gsx1100f project and on the standard bike it has a bolt on brace that goes around the sides of engine form front to rear. Is it worth getting these and putting them on?

Just thinking as the gsxr's slabside and slingshot have a similar frame design/set-up, as in a rap round main frame and bolt on front part but they do not have these bolt on side bits.

So what do you lot think?

We can't help that it's got the wrong head, can we! :D

Just put a 4v head on the GS 2v barrels/bottom end, I'm sure you could get some of the cylinder studs to go in the holes xD or grind the 4v pistions down where the valves cut outs are so the 2v valves don't meat the pistons O.oxD
