  1. You could try putting a very slight 'lead-in' on the casing with a decent scraper. Also, I would go for a smear of Red Rubber Grease on the ring on assembly. Ordinary grease may be petroleum based, and attack the o ring. Then you're back where you started!
  2. Good! Looks like you did an ok job too!
  3. The problems you and your old man have had with this 'mechanic' beggars belief! If that's not the best reason to rtfm, and do it yourself, I don't know what is! You can do almost anything with a good manual, and any extra help you might need, is right here. On this forum! Good mechanics, who really know their stuff are few and far between. That's why they're expensive! Having said that, there's a virtual gold mine of information to be had on OSS! When I see the standards, levels of skill, attention to detail and methodical workmanship, to say nothing about innovative ideas, on members projects/builds, I feel humbled! Long may it continue!!!
  4. Should be punched dots on the shaft and arm, Riccardo? if no marks, arm on gear shaft and pedal should be parallel. Then you've just got to decide what's comfortable in the range your ankle lets your foot move?
  5. Website's up and running. Email also working.
  6. 10 tons??? That seems an awful lot? Maybe the stem's had a coat of bearing fit, or somesuch? As long as they support the bottom yoke, close in to the stem, there should be no problems. A bit gentle heat on the lower yoke during the process wouldn't hurt either! But...the decision's yours! Just tell your machinist to be extra carefull pressing the B12 stem back into the '93 yokes though!
  7. Welcome to the club, Dane.
  8. Have you considered the 1127 Teapot engine, Rick? Loads of power ... and pretty cheap!
  9. Welcome to OSS, and...good luck with the MOT man!
  10. Yup! +1! It'll look ten times better when cleared. Nice job!
  11. I think this thread's ok. If not, mods will move it to where it's better served! Maybe in 'The Vault' somewhere? I was always under the impression, the 1000 motor was both slightly smaller and lighter than the 750. So should be no bother in the transplant. There again....?
  12. How about putting them up, and the mods maybe 'Stickying' them for future reference? Can't have too much info.
  13. Looking the berries, Allan! Nice work.
  14. Great build thread, Ben! Didn't realise what a talented lad you were!
  15. Yup! Agree with all the guys! A smashing job, great attention to detail, and a fitting tribute to your mate, Dave!
  16. Those 'nipples' are only fitted to '77 to '79 GS750's! They are also NLA. You're better off going with the link Katanamangler posted. They are also in the US.
  17. Doh! Didn't realise he was a trader, Viz. Now much easier to find him!
  18. Steve Adams. Just Google Lucky 7!
  19. What's the plan then? Std; or modern running gear? Aircooled, or Oil?
  20. High time you got yourself another one then?
  21. Agree with Lebowski 100%! That's a stunner!
