  1. Just to note the 750 and 1100 L and M 5.5" rim had the writing round the edge of the rim, the later wheels had it on the spokes as in the pic.
  2. I lock wired mine, round the lead then round the body of the coil, people will say it could arc and cause a problem, but never did on mine and it was like that for years till I sold the bike.

    The Beast!

I'm gutted, pic won't open for me..... what am I missing ???
  4. Yes current engine (1127) runs with no starter clutch. No vibes from removal. Picks up revs much quicker..... if you are running total loss and removed the alternator, if you think out of the box, there's still rotational mass to lose there too!!!! That's all that I can give, can't give all my secrets away!
  5. Instead of welding stops on, have you thought about making a bracket that comes off the headlight/fairing bracket? Just a thought.
  6. The more crankcase venting the better, as already said, I looked hard at reducing rotational mass in my race engines, including external rotation, anything the engine has to use power to turn. Food for thought may be ?
  7. Isr front lever and master cylinder are like a piece of art.... ! Nice!!
  8. Hi.....remember there is no age limit for having fun and how better than on an oldskool suzuki! Welcome!!¥
  9. I drilled my lower mounts to 12 mm, wished I hadn't and sleeved the the motor instead.
  10. Would it help you if I told you a 2002 to 2006 900 hornet had a shock length of 285mm AND had an eye fixing at both ends!!!
  11. ........ if it were me though I'd drill and tap a thread and fit a titanium bolt and just spark the shit out of it on left hand bends! Lol
  12. Is the spring too long (wrong spring?) Allowing the side stand to sag? If you try and lift the stand, does the spring go loose on the mounting peg?
  13. I'm running 1127 motor with 38 L/m carbs 155 dyno jet mains and as Blues' bike 2 and half turns on mixture screw too. I'll post a picture of dyno graph when I can find it. Forgot to say I'm running 4 into 1 cobra exhaust and open bell mouths.
  14. That's a smart thing to part with, I sold a scruffy pink and black 750 slabby.... it smoked and was rough...but I'm gutted I let it go.... checked on the gov. Web site and it's not been taxed since I sold it.....bet it's been broken now...
  15. Hi oldkat, i have an 1100 slab swinger in my 750 slab. It went straight in no mods. I did have to use the 1100 shock linkage but that too went straight in. Unfortunately I can't tell you how it effects ride hight as I have a one off top shock mount. Hope this helps, sometimes it quicker to just ask rather than spend ages searching past posts.
  16. I'd personally go with the rubber inserts as ally and vibrations don't mix well.
  17. Loving the build, very impressive....the bike you started with looks like you rode through a British winter and then just stored it in a leaky shed!
  18. I have a ally fuel tank that sits very close to the engine I use silver heat shielding from merlin motorsports maybe worth a look if you're concerned.
  19. Same thing with the 1100 engine that's in mine, sump on but head cover off. 750 engine complete.
  20. I always lay the frame and engine on its side and lift the frame off the engine, engine complete. Be very careful with regards the lower rear cast frame mounts.
  21. Have you tried Pintrest?
  22. That's great! I can get on with making one now. I really appreciate you going to the trouble of sending me those pics. Many thanks.
  23. That would really help me out, many thanks.
  24. I run a cobra on my slabby 7/11, for mot's and for the noise test last year at cadwell I bent a tig rod round a metal scouring pad bought from londis and wedged it down the end can.... noise test past and remove with long nose pliers.... job done!
  25. On the 750 slabby if I member rightly, if you blanked them off you were advised to modify the damper rod by drilling a 5 mm hole x amount of mm from the bottom as for the 1100 I can't comment...
