  1. Hi after recently buying an imported katana I'm short of the seat fixings. I've purchased the front frame mount new. But need to make the front mount that bolts under the front of the seat. Could someone post a photo of theirs with measurements please...this would be a great help....Never had any dealings with katana's and up until I collected it had never even sat on one!
  2. Hi 'as'....have you checked the earth lead where it bolts to the frame?.... if it's a suspect battery have you tried jump leads from your car?
  3. Hi my pal runs a 1200 bandit motor in a 750 wn frame they do go in. He's fitted a gsxr 400 tank on it and it looks just like it was made for the job. Guy Martin's turbo runs the 750 w frame.
  4. Personally I run 750 L or M 38's on my 1100 k but if I had the m engine is stick with the 40's that were designed for the engine.
  5. Hi, after recently purchasing a 750 Katana (non pop up headlight) I was wondering what parts are interchangeable between the the 1100 and 750 ? I've owned oil cooled gsxr' s for years but had zero dealings with katana's I'm hoping a 1127 k engine is going to fit. Any info would be a great help. Many thanks.
  6. At what point is it a good idea/necessary to fit a manual cam chain tensioner. Engine is gsxr 1127 k (89) 144 bhp. Currently has standard one fitted. Many thanks.
  7. I'd happily mount it under the tank. I'd just make sure the terminals were well insulated.
  8. I've always assumed the brass tube was part of the choke system too. The 750 m 38's that I have (3 sets of) all have a large bung (17 mm spanner to undo) on the underside of the float bowl. This is to gain access to the main jet without having to keep removing the float bowl. I think the set you've sold were off a water cooled 750 wn. They are 38 mm but don't have the large bung on the bowl. There's a set on fleabay at the moment take a look and see if they are the same as the set you sold and see what you think?.
  9. Yours look identical to mine.
  10. Yes the 38s do have rubber power jet tubes..... on the left side of the carbs, goes from the side of the float bowl to brass stub higher up on the carb. There is a brass tube on the right side but thats not the power tube. I have a set fitted to my 1100 k motor 7/11.
  11. 38mm were fitted to gsxr 750 L 1990 and M 1991 as standard. There are some differences to the carbs on Californian models which if my memory serves me right was pilot jet and main jet size.
  12. I'd imagine the fittings would be cheaper if it were bottom fed too.
  13. Hi, this happened to me at a drag meeting on my 750m engined slabby. It was in the finals and with no time to strip and clean I turned the fuel off till I did my run. It popped and banged a bit but cleared off the line...the bike ran for quarter of a mile with fuel in the oil (maybe a cup full) got home drained oil and filter, left the filter and breather off in hope to evaporate any left residue. Bike ran fine for another season and a half with no I'll effects. I'm sure it'll be fine.
