  1. Lighter is better, but a lower crown could prove to be an issue I guess
  2. I remember reading a few things in the past, but searching doesn't really answer my questions; -Which year ZX10 pistons can you fit to which 750 motor? -What displacement does this give me? -What are the other mods involved? -Who has actually done it? A quest for more power is on Answers below
  3. You ask if you can build one. I did, as above
  4. I made one out of a lefthand side wheelspacer and some strips of steel. Not pretty, but works very well
  5. Raalte? Totally the centre of the universe..
  6. Changed/replaced doesn’t automatically mean all is well. Also, I know of one example of an actual float leaking and therefor not raising with the fuellevel; something to check as well.
  7. I've seen the paperwork for a German GSX1400 that to me was only lighly modded; it was insane. I can't begin to imagine how it would be for a bike like this.
  8. Is it legal on the road in Germany? Looks good
  9. Don't matter now, gonna turbo it anyway
  10. My thoughts exactly. Anyway, we had the bottom casing off and found stock rods and pistons. I'll whip the camcover off in a while to see if I find something interesting there.
  11. Also, it really was faster than a “normal” 1100 gsxr
  12. And a powerscreen made 125 before I went on.
  13. It was a proper competition; amongst others, a RSV-R made 135, 2 R1’s made a good 140 and the shop’s ZX10 superbike made 189, which all sound about right for the time.
  14. I have had an 1127L motor on the shelf for many years. I binned the bike it was in and ended up selling the rolling chassis. I kept it, because it made a rather silly 160Bhp on the dyno during a shootout. I didn’t know what had been done to it, nor did the previous 2 owners. It had stock carbs, airbox, the proper Yoshi Duplex exhaust but no other give aways to where the power came from. We recently took the engine apart @Kid Kearsley’s place and still didn’t find anything interesting. Can this power just have come from blueprinting, mild headwork and very good carb setup?
  15. I didn't manage a 5". I used the 20mm spindle from the Slingshot and fabbed up a caliperhanger to use the stock brake setup. It handled perfect for what it was and I've regretted getting rid of it from the day I did.
  16. No, used the std swimgarm, which made it worth it in the end. But, if I had started with a bare frame, I surely would've swapped the swingarm. I'll dig some pics out later
  17. I had a 4.5 Slingy rear in my old one, but it was a bit of a faff.
