Bailey single piston dump valve spring
Diebythereaper replied to Tombola's topic in Forced Induction
I wouldnt worry about it, let it breathe, is it holding boost when riding underload and then letting out the "whoosh" sound when you let off the power? Its functioning correclty then, Ive ran one for years and love their size and shape -
Excellently designed! I presume it will be machined out a bit more in the middle?
-
Draw through was like a poorly running two stroke with a powervalve - all or nothing, Blow through rides like a normal bike low down and a good kick when singing, just my experience. I've been good, thanks for asking!
-
Tial or Turbosmart - some say Turbosmart the better brand but I prefer the look of the Tial (just personal preference)
-
They are alot stronger and rated for 300bhp from others experience (one SSB racer ran them to 400 for an entire season apparently....) Standard rods are good for 250bhp before the little ends let go , again from others experience, me I fit carillos and forget - you know what you have then - reliability!

Great info there MeanBean, can I just add my experience -Garrett - first plain bearing T3/T4, great little turbo and loads of torque and had an internal wastegate that was hard to tune with so I jumped to a Gt2860rs (disco potato) - fabulous sound from the ball bearing and spooled really fast, fitted an external wastgate and havent looked back since - 288bhp and I cant remember the torque but anything over 220bhp is not needed for the road imo, you cant use it

No more than 3 psi, 2.5 is the optimum, best person to buy these from is FBM if he's still on here - best in the business on carb'd turbos!
-
There was a Gsxr at Fighterama years ago that had exactly that done - bottom rails of subframe were mounting to top of shock mount using rose joints, it was a very tidy job!
-
Nice find that!
-
Just to say - I have a dot head on the shelf if you need, As for cams you'll have to enquire further but when you say " f " model do you mean a 1985 gsxr 750 f or a teapot ?
-
Busa pistons are great if going turbo and want a cheap piston option but I still prefer to get the proper shaped piston for the application - dished for turbo or raised/crowned for aspirated, Bike will fly with RS 38's but will guzzle fuel as well so be prepared
-
Nice welds on that and fabrication
-
Nice job on carbs looks smart!
-
Welcome to the full time broke club, the sky is the limit with the old Gsxrs! So much stuff is interchangeable between the oil cooled Gsxrs its nearly easier to say what is not and you'll find all the info in the Archive section on here

I trust most brands, they come together in kits but are expensive. Standard B12 size OEM cooler would be the smallest I would ever go for safety, dont have one to measure though.

Whats the width of the frame at its widest point? That will be a starting point, I dont know of one right now but do often have things through my hands
-
Zepp did you get a tank with the frame?

Spondon Turbo winter refresh and makeover

The work looks top class on the tank! Looks like you had a breather pipe fitted as well -
Beastish! Well planned and thought out!

Diebythereaper replied to Swirl's topic in Water Cooled, V-Twins, Singles and 2-strokes
Really really nice! Now that cost a few bob to get to that stage! -
MT 09 is popular these days, can get them with brackets and all ready to fit
-
Yes it will, I have one somewhere if you need
-
Cool! Nice one! Hadnt heard of it before
