  2. Along with "SEA FOAM"......as beloved of Youtubers "will it run after 20 minutes ?".....which is just ATF/Diesel .....Naptha ...and a bit of IPA . Bit like all those videos showing WD40 doing everything from rusty locks to curing cancer ....
  3. I suspect it's 'Marvel Mystery Oil' - widely used in the colonies to fix everything LOL's
  4. Probably lost the bolt and just glued the cap head In To stop the oil coming out, rest of the engine looks in remarkably good nick for a 28,000 miler, hopefully no more surprises. next sump off and check oil pump suction strainer for crap
  5. Nice one shipmate, I couldn’t remember if I’d had it back from you, it’s old age you know, can’t remember my name some days
  6. Yesterday
  7. Reading this. I've still got your helicoil kit. I'm sending kris a cover on Sunday. I'll add it in with the parcel. Totally forgot about this sorry fboab
  8. somebody tried to use a 6mm bolt?
  9. Just so you know, i copied and pasted the numbers and the number 1 was added some how. He has changed the clocks to see if that made a difference. No change. This gsxr also has tps. Should it have a speed sensor as well . I'm popping over next week if I get chance ( I'm stripping my gsxr11). I'm going to video the cdi and loom and TPS and anything else I can think of. It's easier than typing
  10. Oh dear. I copied and pasted the numbers but not sure where the 1 at the end came from. I just searched again minus the 1 and this is what I found. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=131800-5680+gsxr750&sca_esv=d37586a3b186efe8&sca_upv=1&biw=432&bih=810&ei=Pkk1Zv_6AZGshbIP0qis8Aw&oq=131800-5680+gsxr750&gs_lp=EhNtb2JpbGUtZ3dzLXdpei1zZXJwIhMxMzE4MDAtNTY4MCBnc3hyNzUwMggQABiABBiiBDIIEAAYgAQYogRI8R9QlxtYlxtwAHgAkAEAmAFRoAGRAaoBATK4AQPIAQD4AQGYAgGgAleYAwCIBgGSBwExoAe_Aw&sclient=mobile-gws-wiz-serp
  11. I owned one, but found it pretty slow. Maybe I had a duff one or it was just my perception at the time as I was riding a Guzzi Lemans 1 with a race tuned 950 motor at the time.
  12. Always wanted a Kat1100. i bought one but it was too far gone and just moved it on. There used to be loads of them in the Nottingham area, but these days you just don't see them.
  13. What is the update? I'm intrigued as to what the problem is on the 750. Did the Marvel (Which in the UK is a powdered milk. I'm assuming it's something else in the USA)cure it? Is the 1000 still running strong? Come on give the latest
  14. I recently acquired a relatively low mileage 1200 MK1 engine, to do up and make shiny. First job sort the stripped thread in the cam holder, Went to find my box of 7mm helicoils and couldn't find it!! anyway tried to undo the bolts and it fell out !!! held in with silicone!! took the lid off and the thread is fine??? .. easy peasy
  15. That would explain why it wasn't 'visible' at UK or European sources! Even so, it should be 'full power' unless the emission restrictions extend into the CDI's as well? This is really getting strange as its acting like the Jap market bikes with restriction based on speed but 86 mph is too low, they are restricted to 112mph I believe?, all done within the speedo - needle passes sensor and ignition cut occurs. This bitsa is turning into an enigma!
  16. Hello, I'm fighting some issues with a gsx-r 1100 engine that are running pig rich at idle-3000rpm lambda 0,67-0,73 Adjusting the screw don't do mutch. Pilot jet are 30 and should be 45 according to the book? But is it the right one fitted? It's the one to the right in the picture, but should it be the one to the left without all the small holes?
  17. 32900-17E201 is listed as an igniter Unit 88-91 gsxr 750 California Only per Partzilla
  18. Like I said, my motor had been put together by a chimp. There was no clearance on 4 valves and 3 had burnt out. The timing was pretty far out (I can't remember the degrees. it was 30 years ago). It was a problem of bad cam timing and the valves not having enough clearance to seat, hence burnt seats
  19. Your valve seats will not burn because of cam timing! That's not enough/no valve clearence. How were the gaps in the cams aligned with the head? Becaase it needs to be WAY of before it causes to not wanting to fire up. I'm pretty sure you had different problems then the cam timing.
  20. My 1100W was like that when I first got it. Traced to worn needles and needle jets in the carburetors.
  21. I had the same issue on my first GS1000. Someone had fitted a set of high lift cams and not dialed them in. The bike was reluctant to start and slow for what it was. I stripped the top end and 3 valve seats were burnt. I recut all the valves, skimmed the head, slotted the cam chain sprocket holes and dialed the cams in. After that it went like it should. I know this is an extreme case and my engine had been put together by a chimp (there was no clearance at all on 4 valves), but it does highlight that we should always check a bike when we buy it.
  22. Usually start with about 30% bigger jets, and go from there. Best thing is, is get yourself an AFR sensor with gauge, it takes the guesswork out. Sometimes too lean or too rich have somewhat the same symptoms.
