Starter relay wiring

On the starter relay there's a yellow/green wire & a black/white wire, do it matter which way round they go?

No. either way will work.

True - provided that the coil earth isn't also connected internally to the body / mountings of the soli. If they were and you connected reversed you'd be connecting the switched 12v straight to ground - short / smoke / sparks!

Slightly different, but i'd say spot on  But it needs a good tidy up conns wise! Oh & relays posted.

The relay looks in a bit of a state - you can get a great pattern relay on Eblag for less than a tenner. Buy the one advertised for the gs125. It's the same as for gsx1100 efe, gsxr1100 etc. but is half the price as the same item advertised for bigger bikes

Those wiring connectors in particular the yellow connector! The yellow/green wire looks like its about to fall off anyway and the yellow crimp connector shouldn't be used with the ampages that a starter motor draws anyway. Proper ring terminal, crimped, soldered and heatshrink covered - safe as houses!
