shadowfax Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 (edited) Hi all, relatively new here, I floated and lurked around a few other boards, but when I sold my old GS1000, I kind of found guilty still being here. However I have now seen the light again and bought, well pick up, a modified GS1000 tomorrow. Definitely not standard!! Being a relatively small community, I am going to guess that its been seen before and it may well be that the guy I am getting it off could be on here. Big bore 1080, speed triple front end, ported and polished head, bandit back end ......... ring any bells with anyone??? Edited February 25, 2017 by shadowfax Quote

shadowfax Posted March 5, 2017 Author Posted March 5, 2017 Its going to get set up on a dyno on Saturday, running rich at the moment (better that, than lean) though I haven't really had a chance to ride it with the weather being how it is 1 Quote
shadowfax Posted March 11, 2017 Author Posted March 11, 2017 Was a bit of a pig to start, cleaned the plugs and got it going ............. took it up to the shop today to get it on the dyno, wouldn't rev over 7k, but left the bike for the week so he has time to fiddle with it Quote
shadowfax Posted March 25, 2017 Author Posted March 25, 2017 Main jets were waaay too big, bit of fiddling with various jets and mixtures etc ended up with 80bhp at the back wheel. Yes I know that some will say it should be pushing out more, but I'm satisfied with that. Rides well and pulls like a train which is good by me. The aftermarket rev counter is way out so the 7 k not revving out was actually nearer 5k. Hence I was thinking of some digital clocks for it, KOSO or Acewell perhaps Quote
Poldark Posted March 25, 2017 Posted March 25, 2017 "small community"? The sun never sets on the OSS empire. 1 Quote
wraith Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 80bhp is not to bad, I had a gs1000g with a 1085 kit ported head and gsx1000 kat carbs and it put 97bhp rear wheel on the dyna. Quote
