Dezza Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 Call Harris - they will then tell you what pads go in the caliper. They can also tell you what new seals to get. In my experience, they never answer emails. 1 Quote
Mar71n Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 At a guess there a Brembo pad, they look the same as the pads in my ISR front calipers. 1 Quote
clivegto Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 (edited) Range Harris today even they could not remember which pads they used, but said brembo then ap racing is what they used. After a bit of researching they do appar to be FA04 so have ordered some cheap ones to see if in fact they do fit. Also got some stickers from harris Edited November 13, 2017 by clivegto 1 Quote

clivegto Posted November 14, 2017 Posted November 14, 2017 @Dezzathere was a small charge for postage of the stickers. They are having new frame sticers made up for the future. Pads I ordered are for a laverda lz 125 among many others. Quote
Dezza Posted November 14, 2017 Posted November 14, 2017 (edited) I just had to look up what the hell a Lavatory lz125 is. It looks a bit like the Beta 125 s, the fastest 125 available when these things were in my dreams between 1979 and 1981. Â ps If you are desperate, I probably have a couple of frame stickers at home you can have but I do not get back until mid-December. Edited November 14, 2017 by Dezza Quote
clivegto Posted November 14, 2017 Posted November 14, 2017 (edited) Have the rear Harris master cylinder as well. After soaking it in gt85 then filling it up with the stuff it appars to be in good working order. Edited November 14, 2017 by clivegto 2 Quote
clivegto Posted November 15, 2017 Posted November 15, 2017 (edited) Fitted the b12 engine that I am going to use to make  sure the engine mounds are right as there is not a lot of room at the front.  Plenum I have is not going to work in its present form. Also got the stickers from harris today, they said it was just what they had in the draw cost £5 For the postage. Edited November 15, 2017 by clivegto 1 Quote
Dezza Posted November 16, 2017 Posted November 16, 2017 (edited) They send you some frame stickers after all! Those are the ones you can only get from Harris Edited November 16, 2017 by Dezza 1 Quote
clivegto Posted November 16, 2017 Posted November 16, 2017 Got the pads & they are the same as the old ones but new lol. 2 Quote
clivegto Posted November 17, 2017 Posted November 17, 2017 Got the fairing bracket back from the welders, ( Will of Weab Motorcycles) it still needs some holes drilling it to fasten it to the faring. This makes the faring fully adjustable for height & angle of the dangle. Idea was that it could be lowered for drag racing or lifted high for touring if wanted. I like the look of it low & tilted back. Quote
clivegto Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 Rebuilt the back caliper, it don' look too bad for probably been 37 years old. 3 Quote
Dezza Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 Looks a great improvement. What I don't understand is the 'actions' of whoever had the rear brake set up previously. Why would anyone buy a Harris master cylinder and caliper for a small fortune and then neglect them so much? Quote

When I bought it, someone had started to restore it all fresh powder coat etc paiintend the wheels then fell on hard times, hit the bottle and neglected the bike left it outside under a none breathable cover for the forseeable, when I bought it from a bike shop in Blackburn I stripped it right down, stripped the powdeco at from the frame with powerstrip and had it lightly blasted by a mate, then refinished by Eastwoods Refinishing in Chester, then having smashed myself up 2 1/2 years ago, something had to give, 5 kids and a wife to support and multiple operations and in and out of work , so Clive bought it from me and is making a spectacular job, it definitely went to the right home 2 Quote
Dezza Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 Looks like you are right, Swirl. I hope all is well with you now. Many things in life are more important than fancy motorbikes. Quote
clivegto Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 Was not happy with the engine position. Centerd it between the frame rails & tilted it backwards. Made some new lower back engin mounts still need to tidy  them up, lot happier with it now. My dog Blue been helping again lol. 4 Quote
yantosh Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 will the weight of the fairing on the yokes affect the handling at all? I done the same on my last bike, it tended to wiggle a bit once near 3 figures on full throttle 2 Quote

yantosh Posted November 23, 2017 Posted November 23, 2017 it could have been the "too stiff" rear suspension causing the issues on mine 1 Quote
clivegto Posted November 24, 2017 Posted November 24, 2017 Dug the side stand bracket out didn't think it would fit anymore with tilting the engine back a bit as the front bolts to the original bottom engine mount. But hey ho it just to say does . 1 Quote
