busa ash Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Your build is a credit too you garry , and always being developed , love the fact it gets thrashed regularly too Quote
fatblokeonbandit Posted September 27, 2015 Author Posted September 27, 2015 Well I finally got it all back together and fired up today, and fek my old boots, its still smoking!!! Not much at all now, but still more than it should. Bastard thing, this will teach me never to ignore my own advice and not do things on the cheap.... Bugger,,, I might just throw the whole thing in the canal and buy a jetski So what to do now, refit the standard b12 engine, spend a pile of cash on new 81mm pistons and rings or stick the flowed head on the b12 engine and see what that dose. fekin' motorbikes!!! I'm grumpy now and going to the pub............................................ Quote
Captain Chaos Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 So what to do now, just push it in the canal. Tell me where though. Quote
fatblokeonbandit Posted September 29, 2015 Author Posted September 29, 2015 (edited) So after a days ignoring it and hoping it will fix itself when I'm not looking, I fired it up again, and yes its still smoking........Arse...... so time to pull the whole fekin thing apart again and refit the bog standard b12 engine. I'm sure the engines in this harris are jinxed. I'm just off to find a wall to bang my head against Edited September 29, 2015 by fatblokeonbandit Quote
fatblokeonbandit Posted September 30, 2015 Author Posted September 30, 2015 Flippin' motorbikes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this looks like a good spot................................. Quote
Captain Chaos Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 are you sure it's deep enough? Quote
fatblokeonbandit Posted October 1, 2015 Author Posted October 1, 2015 4 foot 6, or 1371mm in French, should be deep enough to get rid of the bloody thing Quote
Swiss Toni Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Bad news with the motor, Gary. You'll get it sorted 'tho! The rear hub. I've seen a GS750/100 hub used with an 'off the shelf' 5.5" rim. I'm sure it was on a highly modded Kat on the original site. Maybe someone can remember it? Quote
fatblokeonbandit Posted October 9, 2015 Author Posted October 9, 2015 Serioulsy loosing the plot with this, no time to do it, no time for anything at the moment, might have to sell it??? let someone else sort it and actually use it, 500 miles in 3 years Quote
busa ash Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Garry just put a cover over it and come back to it when you have the time mate . Quote
fatblokeonbandit Posted November 7, 2015 Author Posted November 7, 2015 Right after ignoring it for a few weeks I bought a load of London pride and spent until 1 am last night getting it back together, luckily I dint get it in upside down or anything daft I'm getting quite adept at fitting the engine on my own now But I must complain about Yoshimura build quality!!! ive only had my coffee mug for 6 years and the handles fell off Quote
kiwi Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 yes you got it all back together but does it ferkin smoke ?? Quote
fatblokeonbandit Posted November 8, 2015 Author Posted November 8, 2015 oil cooler, carbs, coils and a fes bits to put pn they we shall see.... gottac watch the motogp first... Quote
busa ash Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 one quick suggestion garry , i bought a gsx1100 few years ago and it was smoking like a chimney , i swapped engines and it did the same , then i swapped exhausts and it stopped , might be worth rinsing your exhaust with petrol only an idea . cant do any harm Quote
fatblokeonbandit Posted November 9, 2015 Author Posted November 9, 2015 That is plan "D" ash, if its still a smoker when I get it going.. Plan "E" still involves the canal 1 Quote
hussey1 Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Fingers crossed it doesn't smoke this time Quote
fatblokeonbandit Posted November 17, 2015 Author Posted November 17, 2015 Hooo fekin Rayyyyyyyyy had it running for 10 minutes and no smoke, so looking good, seems like it was combination of small problems and me expecting it to smoke, caused the smokeyness. Quote
Captain Chaos Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 oil cooler, carbs, coils and a fes bits to put pn they we shall see....you forgot to fill up oil? Of course it doesn't smoke Quote
